Dream Analysis of the Week- Dolphins

Dream

The dream environment seemed like a kind of lock or tank, an enclosed space between land and ocean. Locks are used to step levels of water up or down, and between dams, depending on the direction of travel. I felt like I was swimming upstream but felt that this was necessary to reach my destination. At a distance, a small minke whale was watching the waves rising and falling around me.

Someone else was there with me--a man who appeared to be both intrigued and frightened. He was gripping a grid work with clenched fingers. It was as if he was expeirencing more than one dimension or timeline and feared letting go.

Insight:

Each dream may be seen from different viewpoints or levels of consciousness. This dream suggests you are ready and in process of stepping up into a new level of consciousness, on the edge of change in different life areas. In the dream itself, you may have have felt trapped at the boundary between the Dream Zone (land) and Astral (ocean). In waking life, something holds you back, keeps you where you are.  You attempt to turn your back on it. Remember to see things in perspective like the optimistic, playful dolphin. If you do not face obstacles, then you are still allowing something external to control you or cause you to feel less than you are.

The dreamer is literally "beside himself," torn bewteen aspects of his fragmented psyche. Ever hear the phrase, "Should I stay or should I go?" Who is asking this question? Part of the dreamer is open to new experiences, other realms and contact with the unforeseen. Another part of him is clutching the grid work of ordinary consciousness in fear, not wanting to let it be altered, resisting shedding some aspects of his own identity.  Humans are often so addicted to physical reality.  Still, it is often by encountering humans that we’ll often find contact with a nonphysical being and change can be terrifying. The prospect of big change exists outside of time and space as we know them, and it seems alien to us.

Dolphins echo higher vibrational consciousness, very far in advance of most humans.  Unfamiliar vibrations may feel alien, as we imagine a dolphin and whale consciousness would feel. Dreams sometimes present alien consciousnesses in the more familiar forms of creatures. Dolphins and whales are associated with playfulness and good humour, as well as highlight natural optimism we sometimes lose touch with.

Just as dolphins and whales come in various sizes, so do guides we may encounter during our dream travels.  Size of a dream creature may reflect the degree of evolution of their consciousness. Level of consciousness determines how and what we tune into.  A minke whale-sized consciousness suggests you are in the company of a very advanced  (spiritually-developed) guide.

Consciously engage in this moment

Notice regardless of what we encounter, a shamanic initiation mirrors our own healing journey. Initiation is also a metaphor for the journey of transformation we are now making and experiencing through the matrix of the Earth, planetary and cosmic environments. More than ever, each of us benefit from stepping up into new levels of initiation, going deeper into our psyche, working out how we really process energies in this world. The point is to grow familliar with strong forces that when misused can hurt ourselves, others, prevent us from seeing beyond.
The classic shamanic initiation involves the experience of a catastrophe, mental and physical suffering. Heredity may come into play, signs at birth, a gift detected in childhood, a realization arising from a pivotal ceremony, vision quest, our response to the crisis of someone we know. However it comes, we accept or resist the information we bring to the surface of ourselves for healing. Every thought and feeling is directing and redirecting the course of our existence.
My experience is genuine initiation begins as unforeseen crisis, but this is actually the tip of the iceberg. Our illusions are systematically called into question, until we dismantle them and let go. Encounters with illness, suffering, and death, not only open other worlds to the shaman within, they also ground the work of social, personal, and environmental healing. Our personal reality is shaken up when we are ready. Everything prepares us for the unforeseen.
We share our journey with mythic heroes, those who have had death-rebirth experiences in rites of passage, the posthumous journey of the soul, clinical death experiences and LSD or other hallucinogenic experiences, and to what one can encounter in deep spiritual and meditation practices. Its all here right now.
To embark on a shamanic journey offers us insight into human development, evolution, devolution, and society's relationship to nature. This guides us to understand social values as they are reflected in art, myth and shape our relationship with the Earth.  It is significant to understand what happens in the journey of unravelling our crisis because we are undergoing this on a personal, collective (global) and cosmic levels simultaneously. We a re a filter for energy flow until the filter is no longer.

At some stage it dawns, for initiation to be effective, it must be entered personally, whoelheartedly, not thru heresay. It is an experience that does not function at a distance but under the skin of each the energy passes through. The benefits of initiation only arise as the path is directly experienced and known. Its visceral and energetic language flows through the body. When one is ready, opportunity is knocking. Everyone is chosen but not everyone hears the call. Opportunity passes through our timelines and experiences again and again in varied forms.  Consciously engage in this moment.  Watch that happens.
Shamans are conscious shapeshifters.  This requires the ability to transcend our attachments (ego) to identity and who we are. To move through attachment to labeling self and openly letting go of identity, we can be virtually anybody. We can slip in and out of different shells, masks, even different animal forms or deity forms.

10 Life-changing revelations

This moment invites a new level of reflection.  During meditation, certain ah-ha moments arise within.  Ponder the implications of these 10 life-changing revelations;

1. Remembering who you are

Self-realisation is reaching that place where you know you are not your body, not the mind, not your emotions, not that which changes with time.  You are the Soul.  If you take away what you are aware of, you are still aware this is not there. Take away awareness and the light goes out.

2. Growing aware of the power of the psyche

The moment the psyche drops into the body is not necessarily as the result of traumatic events in childhood. This moment is so powerful, that it pulls our consciousness fully and instantaneously into the limiting experience. We forget who we are (infinite) because we are busy paying attention to the object of who we are instead of the source of consciousness.  The more intense the emotions, the more powerful an experience feels, the more distracting it is. When we drop into the body, consciousness is immediately distracted by senses, sounds.  Discomfort arises due to an imagined loss of self. However some beings do not drop into the body completely. They struggle with grounding in this world, staying linked to Source.

3. Creating the self concept

We define a world inside ourselves that supports our self concept. Our identity does not develop, but we create it to soften the blow, to distract ourselves from pain of perceived loss of Self.  We each pull the self concept around ourselves, like wool over the eyes, embellish it with the idea that it protects us from deeper pain.  Discomfort prompts each of us to grasp hold of labels and things to define us and enable us to feel more at ease with ideas of who we are in the environment we are living in. The lost Self attempts to redefine itself.

4.   Changing self -definitions

Throughout our lives, we latch onto experiences to define us.  Ego is this masquerading self we pull over our consciousness.  We reflect on our curriculum vitae or accomplishments for instance, or label ourselves based on a series of changing relationships (i.e. friend, single, married, divorced, parent, widowed, etc).  We define ourselves by changing conditions and relationships to orient ourselves in an ever-changing reality that only exists in the mind.

5.  Feeling driven by fear

Regardless of what we think we achieve, the false self is driven by fear of rejection, fear of being found out, fear of our self-created 'safe' realities falling apart. Deep down, we do not want life to pass us by and yet, any fear that arises within is pointing to the original fear of loss of Self that happened when we took a body. We subconsciously tell ourselves that as long as we can control things the way we define them, we can feel safer and supported.  Core panic unrecoginzed echoes attention is hijacked elsewhere than who we are.

6. Distinguishing between core and facade

When someone dies or leaves our lives, grief often arises.  The majority of people are only ever dealing with emotion they feel related to the external world.  The real grief emerging is that which you feel about the illusion of separation you feel toward source consciousness, that which is never really lost, only forgotten.  As long as the predictable aspects of our realities continue, its like we have body guards and we feel secure, powerful, confident.  Our masks exist to protect us from the Truth of who we are.

7. Awakening to spirituality

Awakening to spirituality is about dealing with core Self rather than hiding from it.  We are no longer duped by or lost in the masquerade.   This is about working through the hurdles we create to get through the imagined fear, to deal with the fear of loss of who we are, so it ceases to occur.  It is about recognizing the game we buy into, recognizing the likes and dislikes we hold dear, the unconscious judgements we make about everything that attempt to control predictable outcomes.  On some level, when we feel insecure, we put loads of attention and effort into initatives to feel loved and accepted.  If we are living life to hide from Self, we never get anywhere.  Notice whenever something inside is not okay, that it attempts to feel okay by manipulating and exerting control over the external world. Growing aware that attempts to control are not working is the stepping stone to realizing what you are trying to hide from and compensate for.

8.  Finding True Being

We only ever truly emerge into this world when we stop being motivated by fear and are instead inspired by Love and compassion.  When our power and conditions arise from unconditional love (as opposed to conditional states like changing weather, finances, economy, rejection, ect), we are powerful beyond measure.

9. Recognizing everything is shiftable

Feelings are is shiftable. This has nothing to do with the external world. Stop looking outside to define yourself.  Instead, look inward to work with yourself.  Stop keeping yourself entertained, distracted so you think you are okay.  Work consciously with the part of you that is bothered by external changes.

10. Being okay with reality

This is not the false reality you have created and perpetuated much of our lives.  This is not about forcing conditions and people to be or do what we want.  This is about being okay with whatever is unfolding, working with it, accepting that it is for the best even if we do not yet grasp the bigger picture.  We do not access our magic if we do not surrender our desire to control and see the blessings in everything. Decide to notice what is bothering us in this moment.  Choose to relax amidst the discomfort.  Disengage. Stop complaining or resisting or taking things personally. Stop allowing external unfoldings to disturb us. Allow the distrubance to pass through.  Discomfort pass through as we leave it alone.  We let go of te parts of the world we were using to define us. We honour and respect the flow of everything. Consider 12 ways to reframe fear and failure and 5 Tips to own it.

Explore reasons for astral fatigue

Hi. I have been Astral Travelling & a vivid dreamer for many years now. I can still recall every detail the next morning, & I travel to lands far away spend a lot of time flying & meeting lots of new faces. My question is why do I feel so exhausted when I wake up? I am also a Spiritual Healer, & I feel my Guides & Angels require me for healing each night. I would like to communicate with them on a higher level, also to know how to bring myself back in the morning, as I feel a bit disconnected.

Thanks! M.

Dear M,

Fatigue after astral travel can indicate we are not mentally prepared for all we encounter.  Our body may take a while to reground in the physical plane when we get deeply engaged in the astral.   Moodiness or daydreams arise as a distraction. As we shift to be less 'in ego' in waking life, we are less taken with the novelty of each trip. Increasing self-awareness makes us less vulnerable to negative entities in astral.   Explore daytime relaxation exercises like mantras and visualisation.

As we expand consciousness, we may be drawn to specific beings or guides to assist in the astral.  The nature of our communication is based on how open the heart is.  Exploring the astral enables us to explore the psyche.  The more we raise self-awareness in waking life and through dreams, gain insight into our emotions and personality, the more profound and in-depth our astral experiences become.    What we manifest and ways we respond shapes our spiritual evolution.

Each of us progresses in astral at our own pace.  When out of the astral, the ego may think about how long in 'human time' we sense we have been astral, yet this doesn't affect our progress.  Things like your level of consciousness during astral, ability to focus, dedication, discipline, daytime mindsets and pursuits all affect your astral experiences.  You may benefit from reading How to Perform Astral Projection and Astral projection: dangerous- how to do it safely
