The power of allowing

By allowing ourselves to feel the grief and other emotions we are taught are inappropriate to express openly, we are able to feel and release not only the suppressed or repressed emotions, but also the fear that often takes shape as anxiety and depression and other imbalance in our lives.  Engaging in cathartic breathwork is one effective way to align subconscious and conscious mind, to access, feel and release what is outgrown.

People are rarely taught what to do when friends or family are grieving.  It is not necessary to tell people lies. Support is about telling the truth, saying its going to hurt.  By growign cosncious of and feeling the pain, we get through things together as communities and societies.

Some doors only open from the inside. Breathwork is a way of accessing that door within.

Tap into dragon power

A woman bends to enter a jagged rocky archway into underground caverns. She wears a suit of armour, is short and shivers.  As she goes deeper, she grows in size and walks with straighter posture.  She enters a dingy and floats along an underground river. She sees her reflection in a waterfall and chooses to discard the armour. It is heavy and weighs her down until she lets it go. She jumps into wavy river, swims through the waterfall and discovers a hidden world of fire-breathing dragons. She fears the heat of the fire until she tames and befirends a dragon.

Heading underground suggests we harbour secrets, wish to hide away from the world or, perhaps fearlessly delve more deeply into what is bothering us beneath the surface. Ask what feels threatening and whether we recently escaped (or have memories of escaping) from a perilous situation.

Armour and dragons symbolize protection. If we fear connection, we may unconsciously create physical distance in relationships or, shut people out emotionally.  We may forget how to connect, shield our heart due to past hurt and distrust, or never have had role models for emotional connection.  We always have the choice to let go of what weighs us down and experience the natural flow of energy within and around us.

Waterways echo the state of our emotions. Choosing to navigate through changing life conditions builds resilience.  Emotions are our gauge for how well we are dealing with whatever arises. If we consciously regulate our breathing, as we do when we swim under and above water, we control how we respond to unforeseen events.  Deeper breathing allows us to respond calmly rather than feel stressed and shaken up.  How we breathe reflects our emotions and to what degree we allow them to control our body and mind.

Waterfalls invite us to purge thoughts and situations that no longer serve us. We are ready to let go on a whole new level. We may feel compelled to do a detox, to shift gears in areas of our life, focus of our energies and attention in new directions.  We are  drawn to what feels natural.

Fire can symbolize anger, hostility, or rage that is suppressed and in need of release. Only by befriending our shadow, do we make the unconscious conscious, and come to know balance. Those things we fear or make us feel uncomfortable about others are those things we have not yet accepted within ourselves . Fire also represents life energy, our source of power and inspiration, creativity and gifts. It is up to us to pay attention to what is brewing or erupting within us, and to recognize we have the choice how to harness and direct our energy.

Dragons are also magical creatures. Tapping into our dragon power is accepting the dragon within.  They represent innate abilities to transform how we perceive and experience what is happening in ourselves and the world.  We each feel the way into what it is to stand in our power, speak our truth, love all parts of ourselves and be our own best friend.

The Power of Letting go

The power of letting go of our mind, ego and expectations is often underestimated.  This is about allowing things to be as they are, allowing energy to flow, without interference.  Fear is powerful energetic interference. It prevents us from seeing and experiencing limitless possibilities.

The part of us that sees the big picture is not the ego, it is awareness of the energy of the big picture, the overview of our lives, and how things unfold freely without judgment. Its helpful to develop an awareness of the presence and impact of judgment on our lives. Eliminating judgment is not practical.  We are given ego for a purpose just as our ability to judge has its place. And yet, living from a place of fear blocks the flow of love and all it reveals.

Noticing sensations we are experiencing however, is not the same as judging them.  It is judgment that has the power to interfere with the flow. Simple observation is letting things be as they are. When we do not attach or cling, letting go is not necessary.  Accept whatever forms the sensations take within.  Know everything is energy that is self-adjusting and self-regulating. Listen and be guided by intuition. We cannot begin to imagine what is coming our way.

6 Tips to Get on Track

From the moment we feel restless, stagnation or something hindering our progress, we may sense we are off track in areas of our life. Rest assured, strategies exist to strengthen relationships and get back on track.  Here are  6 action-oriented tips to offer new clarity.

1.  Do some free-writing

An effective starting point is to ask yourself some questions aloud, put a pen in your hand and allow your hand to respond immediately without thinking.  This is sometimes called automatic writing.  It is a way to communicate with a higher part of yourself that sees your life choices from a position of relative objectivity. Part of you is aware of what is really bothering you, yet another part of you is not listening. This is a way to begin making the unconscious, conscious.

2. Pay attention to your night dreams

As we pay attention and strengthen dream recall, it is helpful to write details.  The more we do, the easier it gets.  Techniques exist to jog the memory.  Although dream dictionaries can shed some light and also be entertaining, sometimes working with a skilled dream analyst is also beneficial.  In this way, we see deeper meaning in symbols. If this approach to shaking life up stands out, get excited for a new, related Inspirational Mentor Interview coming soon.

3. Meditate

Different ways exist to meditate;  engaging in gardening, yoga, pilates, whatever evokes joy and relaxation. It is a process shifting from the experiencer to the watcher of our thoughts and what is unfolding in our lives. A useful practice is to create a quiet space or immerse in nature.  They key is to be willing to see and feel events from a new point of view. Meditation is not about quieting the mind but rather, recognizing we are not our thoughts, not our emotions, not our mind, we are the Soul. The ego-driven purpose can differ from the Soul purpose. If meditation rings true, invite reading Interview with Susan Shumsky: Maharishi and Me

4. Explore breathwork

Breathwork is a powerful approach to self-exploration and healing. A facilitator guides us individually or in a group to consciously control the breath as a means to alter mental, emotional and/or physical state.  It can compliment different approaches we take to get to know ourselves and make choices that create a more purpose-driven life. Breathwork draws insights from modern consciousness research, anthropology, transpersonal psychology, Eastern spiritual practices, and mystical traditions.  If this sparks interest, read Interview with Dan Brule.

5. Engage in Regression

Some revelations arise and change work can also be done during regression.  Fears are released during this process and insight is given.  However its up to each of us to take information on board and apply it to our lives.  It may turn out that you grow aware of repeating patterns from childhood conditioning and may be ready to dismantle old programs. In order to heal, we must be willing to feel. We offer this as a service as an optional tool in our coaching program. If this resonates, also invite reading Interview with Karen Joy and Interview with Anne Jirsch.

6. Commit to Holistic Coaching

Liara offers a coaching program that empowers clients in twelve areas of their lives. If  this peaks curiosity or stirs something within, this is a sign to contact us for more info about our free 30 min consultation.  Discover if one of our programs feels right. We can learn from and model others until we feel more confident trusting ourselves fully.  If motivational stories inspire something, invite reading Interview with Drew Tracy.

5 hints you are on the right path

Its common to wonder whether you are getting anywhere.  You may have a vision of where you see yourself, a message you wish to convey, or be working on a project and feel impatient or confused about the results.  Ponder these ten hints everything is unfolding perfectly

1. You are increasingly honest with yourself

The more you express how you feel, right where you are and what you want or not, the more you begin to see the power and vibrational energy of honesty in action. The universe is always listening. It is a soundboard that echoes back your feelings and emotions in different forms.

2. You grow more open and receptive

In modern day, we are bombarded with messages, opportunities, mail and advertising.  Notice how often you say to yourself you keep receiving what you never asked for and do not want.  Step back.  Reflect again.  Whatever you ask for is always given. You have a role in co-creating everything that enters your scope.  You decide what to notice and how to respond.  Imagine how your experience shifts as you choose to notice what is helping or could help you rather than what is lacking, frustrating or confusing you.

3. You notice more synchronicities

Everything you need (i.e. people and opportunities) are ever-present.  Whomever and whatever shows up in your radar appears for a purpose. What is it about striking up conversations with strangers who have relatives in the place you are moving to or, have familliarity with something you wish to learn about? Just happen to notice an opportunity that resonates with your soul?

4. You speak as if its already done

When you are confident and visualize details of your vision coming together promptly, this cannot help but present itself to you.  You must believe  in yourself before anyone else will (including the universe that co-creates with you).  Things come together as the result of taking more responsibility for your actions, perception and growing aware of everything you choose not to see. If ever you allow doubt to cloud your vision or imagine any possibility other than a blossoming vision, then you are creating a very different kind of experience.  Being in harmony with yourself is about thoughts, words and deeds being all in harmony. Focus on wellness, optimum functioning and trust heartfelt intuition at every apparent curve in the road.

5. You make the most of whatever happens

This is about choosing to love rather than to fear, to connect with people rather than detach or disconnect.  It is about making the most of where yo uare, being spontaneous, laughing more, seeing the best possible outcome, even feeling joy at an outdoor event in a rainstorm while drenched.  All events can be felt as stepping stones to a higher vibrational perception of wherever you are.  When you seem to get lemons, watch what happens as you choose to make lemonade!
