5 Benefits of Astral, Lucid & Dream Yoga Course

People are asking about prospective benefits of participating in my new and upcoming astral, lucid and dream yoga course.  Here are 5:

1. Deepen understanding of Soul Progression

The process of this course is about moving further along different levels of spiral consciousness. Its about training yourself to recall dreams with more clarity, to wake up consistently during dreams, to train the mind to stay awake in dreamless sleep, and to take insight from the night to transpose it into your own daytime experience. Putting theory into practice is a key aspect of this journey.

2. See Influence of Yogic & Buddhist Tantric Traditions

According to these spiritual schools, a person is made up of multidimensional bodies.  There exist several variations but we will address 5 fields of intelligence: in Sanskrit, they are called Annamaya Kosha (food sheath), Pranamaya Kosha (sheath of prana or life), Manomaya Kosha (mind sheath), Vijnanamaya Kosha (knowledge or wisdom sheath), and Anandamaya Kosha (bliss sheath). The 5 koshas (layers) act as a roadmap for our journey of self-discovery.  By understanding and working through each, we can move into states of changing awareness toward self-realization.

 3. Develop through Breathwork

As part of each module, we will explore specific breathing techniques (and meditations) that are designed to help clear bodies and prepare the dreamer for different levels of enagement and expansion.

4.  Explore planes of consciousness

We will explore different views on/of the astral plane, mental and causal planes, Buddhic/Intuitive/Soul plane as well as the spiritual (Atmic) planes.  The nature of individual spiritual and dream development determines which planes are explored and how.  Techniques and experiences are shared as part of the course.

5.  Activate dormant abilities

Recognition of different aspects of multidimensional nature has potential to activate dormant abilities and allow participants to function at a more optimum levels.  Tools and insights are offered. Practice, discipline are up to each individual.  This comes from being motivated to take on lessons of progressively higher levels.  Know everything is preparing us for the unforeseen.

Contact us for further details about the Astral, Lucid & Dream Yoga Course.  We also offer Dream Consultations for single and multiple dreams as individual sessions or as part of psychotherapy services.

Dream Analysis of the Week- Horse stuck in fence

Dream:

So, I was walking along this path with a friend or 2, looking for something it seemed, somehow I had the feeling it was a misty morning. Anyway, we turn up this other path and I look up and see a bit of a commotion. so I hurry up and then see the horror or this bay brown horse that had somehow got its front legs tangled in the fence wire. But at a height just higher than my head. So, I am now this side of the fence, the horse is that side of the fence but its head is this side. There are a few people trying in vain to cut the wire with an old garden scissors, but nobody seems to stress.  I recognise the boy with the scissors as being in the same school my daughter was in well I see this and go into Panic mode. we must free this horse asap else it won't make it. I shout to those in that side of the fence to wake up and hurry up and get pliers from the house or garage behind them and cut the wire from this horses legs. Then I get a Christian lecture from this boy’s mother about my language. And all I am thinking is please not now just get pliers. And I am feeling so confused with the mentality of all these people. And what about this poor horse. Helpless. I woke up.

Insight:

Invite you to start with the emotions that stand out: helpless, confusion, panic, horror, fear (of death).

Brown animals as totems echo strength, stability, and endurance. The moment a dream animal exerts effort to escape a trap or entanglement, it warns you to pay attention to what you resist releasing in waking life.  If your relationship with self needs some work, to embark in a healthy, committed long-term or deepen an existing relationship, raising self- esteem is key.  If during childhood, you were often given what you wanted without much effort, you may have to learn assertivenss, learn to communicate.

When fear is evoked in nature, we may be ready to integrate a new level of awareness into our lives. How do we cultivate more self-love? Do a task you have been postponing.  Put yourself out there and create a kind of community to reflect self-love.  How can we be more autonomous in the way that we are living our lives? How do we speak to ourselves (self-talk)? What is our entourage like? Is there camaraderie, loyalty?  Are you nourishing soul growth?

Fence dream symbols often echo or emotional or relational boundaries. Are you ‘caught up’ in situation that evokes discomfort? If you or someone you know is at the ‘breaking point,’ what gets you over the hump is the decision that “I must feel better.” The revelation happens that there are things that must change for you to live a different life.  We learn about people when we observe them relationally.

Dream pliers are symbolic of a deep desire to. fix something. Resolve your family conflicts.  When we can accept ourselves despite our flaws then we can love a partner despite our flaws. People who judge themselves harshly also judge others harshly.   Choosing well and discerning well requires you know your needs well.  Are you a communicator and is this person open.

Scissors in a dream are part of your quest to eliminate anything non-essential from your lifestyle. This can be feelings and thoughts that you keep, yet disregard. Figure out what you cannot live without in a relationship and do not settle.  What is healthy is people who know themselves, who are kind and who communicate.

If you believe your needs are less important, then you are prone to co-dependent relationships and may have abandonment.  If you think your needs are more important than someone else’s, then you are selfish.  We are not given many examples of enduring love, of what happens after the honeymoon phase.  Everyone deep down is capable of that.

Our greatest opportunity for healthy soul growth is through relationships.  A bad relationship is not good for health.  Trust, safety are foundational.  Do you want to be a great partner.  If you do not feel protected, if you do not feel like you have the freedom to express yourself, then control may be an issue. When we support each other to deal with our own stuff reveals we can be here without having to control a situation. (i.e. Do you want me to give you a hug, support, you listen or do you want my advice?)  What is the source of your beliefs, morals? Religion? If you feel stuck in an area of your life, you have the power, ingenuity,  resourcefulness and awareness to get yourself out. The nature and pace of change is up to you. Nobody can rescue you but yourself. Everything in the dreamechoes a part of your state of mind.

We offer Dream Consultations for single and multiple dreams as well as an Astral, Lucid and Dream Yoga Course.

Dream Analysis of the Week- Repeated Awakening

Dream

I dreamed my alarm went off, startled me. It quickly hit I had overslept, forgot to sit exams. The dates were circled in red on the calendar on a bulletin board hanging above my nearby desk. If that was not bad enough, I opened a letter that had been slide under my door. It said I had an another exam to write for a course I forget to drop.  My breathing went shallow, I began to sweat. So, I lay back down, closed my eyes, heard my beating heart, slowed my breathing. When I opened my eyes again, my bedroom furniture had moved. I also had a green plant. I was aware I had finished college years ago. I shook my head again, closed my eyes and then a real alarm woke me up. I was lying down again.

Insight:

To feel panic when you awaken from a dream; a sense of being desperately unprepared, stressed, scared and worried, invites that you meditate on the feelings.  Silence the mind and ‘stay’ present with the emotions that stand out. Let them guide you to the underlying and core issue.  Where else in your life might evoke feeling unprepared, stressed, desperate or scared?

As it happens, this might be about a life transition you are going through or change and growth in personal relationships. What is it, unrelated to dream exams, that you might feel unprepared for? It might be feelings of inadequacy or self-doubt about a new life chapter. It might be about experiencing a lack of life balance, too much pressure, a sense of overwhelming responsibilities or a reflection of an inner conflict.

Another view is this is a false awakening dream. Such false awakenings are viewed as a hybrid or overlap of timelines, states between sleep and wakefulness. Those who know false awakenings may also lucid dreams.

In a lucid dream, the dreamer realizes s/he is dreaming. This knowledge allows you to maintain some control over your surroundings and even change the course of the dream. If this was lucid, ths student might have consciously turned the alarm clcok back and decided to to go back in time to awaken in time to take the exams, reclaim control of the unfolding experience. Many lucid dreams commonly end in false awakenings. You might even “wake up” and start describing your dream to someone else before truly waking up.

A false awakening can become a lucid dream, especially if you begin to notice certain details that differ slightly from reality.  For example, your furniture might not be in the usual place, your lamp might not turn on, or you might open a book and find you can’t read any of the words.  Suspecting you aren’t actually awake might lead you to try manipulating the dream in some way or telling yourself to wake up. This is part of an empowerment process that redefines a different kind of awakening and reclaiming of power.

We offer detailed Dream Consultations on single and multiple dreams as well as an Astral,Lucid and Dream Yoga Course

3 Revelations about Control

The desire to control is a common unconscious phenomenon. Many people are unaware of their own driving force or what exists beneath it.  Consider three revelations about control:

1. The effort to control arises due to fear.

In other words, control is a defence mechanism.  As you identify the fear, question its validity. Ask yourself, Is it true? If you’re afraid the night will be ruined, question that assumption.

2. Control is a result of being attached to a specific outcome (as if we always know what is best).

As we trust that we’re okay no matter what circumstances unfold, no need arises to micromanage the universe. We let go, open ourselves to all sorts of unforeseen possibilities that are unseen when we’re attached to one “right” path. What can you directly influence? Is your focus here? Or are you in someone else’s business? When we’re trying to control things outside of our own sphere, things fall apart rather than together.

3. The energy of control is less powerful than surrender.

When our vision gets very narrow and focused, our breath goes shallow, adrenaline is pumping and the heart rate increases.  It almost always does. Let that feeling of freedom guide us toward loosening our grip.  The more we want something, the more we are conditioned to hold on. yet letting go results in something beautiful.
