12 Ways to master your fear

Resistance is fear in disguise. It has the power to stop you dead in your tracks, stagnate your growth, limit your perception and understanding. Notice specific experiences you reach for or deny yourself right now. Whenever you say you postpone anything, far more is going on.

Hesitation is fear in action. Fear arises when something threatens your comfort zone. You may tell yourself you do not have the time, the money, the freedom, the right mindset, adequate insight, to take advantage of what is presenting. Its all fear taking shape as excuses. Telling yourself why you cannot do something simply reinforces the fear that holds you hostage. The moment is here to address this and move through it.

Review these 12 ways to master your fear:

1. Shift focus from the future

Your fear is always about assumptions on what’s going to happen next. Thus, your fear is always about that which does not exist. If your fear is about the non-existent, your fear is completely unfounded, imaginary. The future is always pointing and guiding you to the present moment where intuition is the most reliable guide. If you have the urge to act, fear only holds you back if you are unconscious to the mind's tricks.

2. Decide why you are here

You must decide whether you are on this planet to experience life or avoid life. If you exist to experience life, intensity is required. Without it, you are not living fully. Using fear as a tool to protect yourself reduces the energy flow available to you to create. Once the visceral is gone, you are no longer really living.  You only live based on mental ideas or heresay. You cannot experience anything fantastic and ecstatic.  When you are fearful, you cannot experience wild abandon. You cannot sing, dance, laugh, cry, fall inor lose yourself in love. You cut yourself off from what makes you feel alive. You only sit, grieve, regret not taking risks.

3. Get comfortable with the unknown

Admit it.  You are taught to feel comfortable with the familliar, with what is predictable, or  perceived 'normal' though no such thing exists.  The more you accept life is energy in motion where nothing is permanent or predictable, the more you realize you are living with the unknown every moment and doing just fine. Be conscious of this and watch your perception of fear transform into excitement about the unknown.

4.  Let go of the urge to control

HUmans are taught that unless we can exert control, we must fear. But is it possible to ever have control? Even if you can swim, you can drown. A professional musician or experienced chef can still make mistakes. Give up the illusion of control, and you are free.

5.  Surrender

Surrender to what is is powerful, even if it seems 'way out there.' because as long as we try to change what is, we allow the mind's filtered version of reality convince us that is real.  In doing so, we cut oursleves off from far more.

6. Get rooted in reality

When you are not rooted (grounded) in reality, suffering happens. Suffering is always about that which does not exist.  When not rooted in reality, you are always rooted in your mind. Mind is – one part of it is memory, another part of it is imagination. Both of them are in one way imagination, because both of them don’t exist right now. You’re lost in your imagination, that’s the basis of your fear. If you were rooted in reality, there would be no fear.  If you are suffering the non-existential, we call that insanity. So, people may be in just socially accepted levels of insanity, but if you’re afraid or if you’re suffering anything which does not exist, it amounts to insanity,

7. Consult a Life Coach

Do you fear success or fear failure? A good life coach can help you examine what you truly want from life, and guides you to pinpoint the true origin of your fears. Its crucial to be clear on what you really want and what is actually holding you back.  Commit to loving the process.

8. Read & Listen

Reading a book, scanning relevant webpages or listening to podcasts that touch on your specific fear can open new doors on how you can get rid of it. Access motivational and inspirational work or glimpses of workshops about topics you recognize you are avoiding.

9. Get into the flow

Inactivity can be a sign from your inner guidance system telling you that you still have preparation to do. If you tell yourself you cannot do something due lack of income, it helps to see everything as the flow of the same energy.  Taking action to generate income begins with loving yourself and being true to who you are. Loving more, doing what you love and seeing everything as energy in motion, allows flow to happen.

10. Watch films & Youtube videos

Watching a movie, documentary or Youtube videos can be eye-opening. Sometimes it’s nice to distract yourself from your fear, but if you really want to, you can find loads of movies on the fear you’re dealing with and empower yourself to see your fear from a completely new perspective.

11. Identify the lesson

Fears are pointers to lessons we create for soul growth. Overcoming fear involves learning related lessons and moving ahead.  The Path of life is about identifying lessons, accepting and expressing more of yourself. This shapes all areas of your life; relationships, career, and far more.

12. Model a master

Connect with a person or people who have experienced the fear you have and also moved beyond it.  Spend time with them, ask how they did it, and explore whether this approach could work for you.  Discuss the nature of the process. You can learn a lot about yourself and the emerging master within.

3 Key Benefits to being more bold and daring

This is the perfect moment to allow yourself to unleash what has been waiting for you to notice it.  Call it untapped potential or life-changing inspiration. Here are three key benefits of being more bold and daring:

1. Letting go of the old allows embracing the new

Stepping outside your comfort zone allows you to discover that the comfort zone was actually uncomfortable.

2. Acting spontaneously is being in the flow of synchronicity

Seeing opportunities and intuitively acting on what resonates, allows you to see clearer that you are always assisting yourself.

3. Shifting from fear-based decision-making into a love inspired existence

Choosing is about hesitation. Moving beyond examination and reflection is being guided solely by love. This reminds you the more bold and daring you are, the more you appreciate and accept what makes you tick.

4 Self-created myths & Tips to shatter them

This is the perfect moment to step back and view your perceptions with new eyes.  Reflect on four self-created myths and tips to shatter them:

Myth #1:  Fear exists and must be overcome

The very belief in fear creates insecurity and holds you back from doing and being what comes naturally. Making fear-based decisions or running away from fear is action and keeps you from living your best life now.

Tip #1: Watch what happens as whatever evokes fear is viewed as an invitation to prove to yourself that fear is unfounded. (This assumes you know the difference between imagined fear and putting yourself in harm's way)

Myth #2:  Material life and spiritual life are separate

All perceived separation is illusion. The idea of a choice between spiritual and material life is but an example. HUman beings exist on Earth to grow and develop spiritually.  Yet, being spiritual does not require abandoning , everyday life and relationships.   Growth involves applying spiritual or universal principles to daily life. In the seemingly mundane is the key to understanding the profound questions of Soul.

Tip #2: Making choices is about hesitating to make decisions.  Being spontaneous and acting intuitively is seeing nothing to reconcile or no separation. This is about recalling what it is to be in the flow.

Myth #3: Disconnection alienates people

Any disconnection you feel from people or situations is simply a mirror of disconnection you feel from yourself. Similarly, any grief you feel about apparent loss is not about the perceived other but about forgetting innate wholeness which can never be taken away.

Tip#3: Recall everything is love and love knows no separation. Explore the messages that your material life brings you. Allow feeling pointers to love and blessings. This is a gentle reminder of why you choose to be here.

Myth #4:  Money is lacking

Another view is money is a form of energy exchange, a social convenience which only takes on the meaning and importance you give it. Ask why you allow yourself to feel you are not enough, less than or lacking in some way.  Reflect on when you feel desperate for money to manifest certain things, which emotional buttons are triggered and what unconscious issues this points to for healing.

Tip #4: Seeing everything in terms of energy flow allows shifting from a vibration of scarcity to abundance. How you view and interact with money is siply a reflection of how much you love yourself or deny self-love.

10 core job motivations often missed

Everything is synchronicity. You may tell yourself you are searching for something but cannot yet identify what this is. Every relationship and role invites you to grow aware of unique gifts and how you can use them to stretch yourself and enrich others in new ways.

Notice western society teaches we need to work to survive materially, but motivations for job choices and job changes are not what they appear. To feel discomfort or restlessness invites you to look deeper to make the unseen conscious.  Everything invites you to listen to your feelings.

As it happens, jobs or careers that appeal to you are pointing not so much to your strengths and weaknesses as society has you believe, but to the origin of your misplaced beliefs about love so you heal and let these go. One fundamental life lesson is to love and accept yourself as you are.  You know this is happening as you sense a balanced exchange in time and effort you put in with what you receive in return.

All your behaviours reveal your relationship to love but you are unaware until you recognize the signs and heal what is revealing itself.  Consider 10 core job motivations often missed that show us how we interpret love.

Listen to yourself. What motivates you to do the job you currently do?

1. to be helpful and caring

( this could point to unconscious people- pleasing behavior, confused boundaries, conflict avoidance)

2. to be strong and in control

(underlying belief that love=being in control, hiding feelings, keeping emotional distance)

3. to be unique and different

(underlying belief that love/ peer acceptance comes via non-conformism)

4. to be orderly and structured

(underlying belief that love comes through careful planning)

5. to maintain peace and calm

(underlying belief that love= keeping peace / mediating conflict)

6. to be impressive and attractive

(underlying belief that love= achievement, approval seeking)

7. to be knowledgeable

(underlying belief that love = intellectual/ accumulating information)

8. to be fun and entertaining

(underlying belief that love=comes when you are only funny/ hide negative feelings)

9. to be secure and safe

(underlying belief that love=security)

10. to be perfectionistic

(underlying belief that love must be earned through relentless effort)

10 Reasons your current role may appeal

Just for fun today, brainstorm reasons why you currently do the work or offer the services you do. This exercise invites you to draw attention to things you are not yet seeing in yourself.  Career transition coaching explores values and core motivations.  Consider  9 reasons people tell themselves their role appeals:

1) Desire: it fulfills various desires that you may not yet put your finger on

2) Trust: something about the envirnoment or colleagues stimulates trust

3) Belonging: feeling part of a select group with peer acceptance or recognition

4) Gratification: the nature of your work offers quick solutions

5) Leadership:  being a pioneer or boss appeals, all that triggers leadership-related emotions

6) Love: The need for love is common and people seldom find long-term solutions to fulfill this need. Does your product, service, work setting evoke love, nurture self-worth and appreciation from co-workers?

7) Greed: Good money may appeal to the ego and be a pivotal reason you do what you do.

8) Hope: Hope is what drives the human spirit to look for solutions and push forward even when things look bleak. When you offer solutions that enrich lives, health, relationships or careers, this can have staying power

9) Fun: when what you do keeps you feeling light-hearted and at peace wth yourself, you feel stimulated

10) Soulful: something about the way you do the things you do touches or expresses your soul and enables you to touch or comfort the soul of others
