Be happy as you are

Many people ask the question, 'what does it take to be me?'  The thing is, being requires no thought or effort.  Just stop telling the self that you are something you are not.

To accept what you know and do not know is to be willing to accept what you cannot always define or explain.  This is about not trying to be someone in particular, not trying to appease others or, obtain their approval for your choices.  You have the capacity to give up reacting to form and emotion completely.

1) As someone defines you, he only limits himself, not you.

2) Someone else's judgment is that person's alone.

3) Among infinite choices, you can opt to be fully present.

4) To realize you are independent of form is an awakening.

5) Pure joy emerges from formless realms inside the real you.

Not trying to appease others reminds me of that wonderful Katherine Hepburn quote you cite in your Self Disclosure book at the beginning of the Monk In Your Mind section ...

"If you always do what interests you, at least one person is pleased."

That is a valuable lesson on the path to total self-love.

#2 really speaks to me.

Jannie, everyone has opportunities to learn the difference between asking for something and allowing it to flow through you. You can ask others to accept what you project as your identity or, allow energy vibration to flow through you. Each choice gently reminds you of the truth you already know but may temporarily resist. To receive the grace available to you, accept it. Be aware of how you permit time and external perception to control you.

Mama Zen, you are invited to experience this existence from your vantage point to the best of your ability. As you grow more aware of your thoughts and emotions, you begin to sense this is not an exercise in doing but a choice to see, to shift awareness and more fully expand.

The idea of judgement of another is something I've thought a lot about recently. And I've come to believe that it is not up to us to judge others, when how can we know what it is like to have walked in their shoes. Still, though, how others judge us - because it happens - can affect us. I try not to let that happen, where I am affected, although I know there is much improvement I can do. I am reminded of that here today....thank you, Liara, for always helping me to evolve...

Dear Liara ~ I worked for a Boss who refused to accept that I was a director as well as a choreographer. Because of this, he did not give me directoral projects and therefore limited me..

henry, thank you for sharing this meaningful life experience. Different ways exist to perceive conditions.

Every moment, you choose with intention to be where you are. There are no accidents. A person is never a victim of his own choices. You could always choose to be somewhere else, doing something else, but that is not your choice right now. Ask yourself why. You already know the answers. Loving intention resonates in the heart.

To take full responsibility for your role where you are is to be willing to reflect on the lessons available here. You are the master of your own game. Your life is a series of events you create on a learning curve. As you focus inward, you sense it all serves you. Identify the blessings and advantages. As you raise awareness, you may connect with karma, see through illusions. Obstacles fall away.

When we choose conditions that appear to limit creative or other freedom, we are also choosing to give away some of our own inner power. We do so for reasons not always grasped at a conscious level. Allow all thoughts and feelings to bubble up to the surface. Respond with gratitude, love and understanding. Allow this to heal you.

Recall Eleanor Roosevelt says, No one can make you feel inferior without your consent.

Lance, as you sense you raise self awareness, you realize you decide whether or not you permit external perceptions to control you. Every moment, you have new opportunities to expand your innersight and remember what you have the power to do. Tap into the universal knowing available to the authentic you.

If we define ourselves, one resonates definitions out into the world and people then feel compelled to define you. One then notices, as we begin defining ourselves less by not being definitive about anything, then the world responds by judging us less. As we begin to become comfortable expressing our true feelings and nature, then the world celebrates with you. One's surroundings resonate with how we resonate in our selves. We experience exactly what we feel within ourselves. Therefore, we can invite feelings that take us to where we want to be and explore. The world will change and morph to accomadate our wishes.

Bern, as everything is energy, anything you perceive responds to your state of mind and state of being. If people judge you and you do not respond, then you do not fuel this fire and it burns itself out. As you choose to feel joy, this does not arise from what you do. Rather, it flows into what you do and expands into the surrounding energy matrix by choice. You enjoy it all when fully present.
