Move beyond emotional buttons?

Emotional buttons are those parts of you that trigger discomfort when someone treats you in a certain way.  Reflect on an occasion when someone was able to set you off or make you angry.  Reflect on an occasion when you noticed what was happening but chose not to be affected inside. How do these experiences guide you along your path to awakening? What does awareness mean to you as the result of gaining insight?

When we learn to notice that buttons are being pushed and that we are engaging in cyclic patterns, we feel the desire to be liberated from Pavlovian responses. These situations can be looked at as chances to regain personal power that will allow individuals to expand their awareness and personal vibration in a process of becoming more complete and whole. Therefore, insight is received and a new perception of existance is obtained when habitual patterns are transcended. The world becomes clearer and one feels to a higher degree. Just knowing that we can find greater peace by stepping aside from conflict can give one the insentive to face each moment with courage and a positive attitude where growth becomes a daily endeavour.

Natural Moments, you kindly remind people how noticing emotions is very empowering because of the wisdom and insight they offer. People will frequently talk about why they do not like to feel a certain way that 'so-and-so' makes them feel. Yet, this very focus on what he does not want is what perpetuates the vicious circle. The act of noticing or observing is a life-transforming exercise. It already means you take a step outside the behaviour that keeps you away from alignment with what enables you to feel good.
