Setback is a state of mind

Human beings give much of their own energy away. If you choose to believe in mistakes, setbacks and failures, it is also possible to reframe all events as meaningful experience now.  To step back and view a situation from a detached point of view changes the impact.  What if 'mistakes' are lessons you have not yet learned on your path to self-acceptance?

Every moment, many people are holding themselves back from accepting all that they are.  People judge or analyze much of what they observe.  Listen to yourself.  Listen to people around you.  What do they say? How are they inviting conditions they say they do not want?  Notice where you place your attention.

From the moment you view yourself as healed, gifted, successful, knowledgable, enlightened, some part of you already tells you this is not true. The mind interferes with its own agenda.  This separates you from what you know and from all that you are.  Human beings spend their lives telling themselves what they are not as an exercise in forgetting what they are.  Where do you stand on this?  Are you perfect now?

Hi Liara,

I once read, "I may not be perfect, but parts of me are excellent." While it induced a humorous response, it does have deeper tones to it.

I think we are perfect now, but as we evolve we become imperfect, then perfect, then imperfect. We are forever whittling the illusions to get to our pure perfection - God realization. In an effort to get there, parts of us are perfect and parts of us are imperfect. Then you have those who say perfection in itself is an illusion.

If one feels the need for perfection, then they are lost in seeking perfection. Therefore they consider themselves imperfect. If someeone claims they are perfect, then there is a counterpart that feels imperfection. If the word vanishes or no longer triggers someone to identify with it, everything just IS.

If we consider the Higher Self a state of perfection and something to attain to, then why did we seperate from it in the first place.....because it or we never identified with the idea of perfection.

If one falls off of a horse and does not get back in the saddle, then one has fallen to a lower level of vibration, which is fine. However, one can get lost and attached to a particular rhythm. One can feel stuck. Consider falling on purpose or observing perceived setbacks as a game. Slide down the ice and allow your self to fall and feel what falling is all about, knowing that you can't get hurt with the right attitude. With the right attitude, one ascends back to the wished for altitude or level of vibration or consciousness. Therefore, we should not be hard on ourselves, because it puts us in a box as if we have judged and condemned ourselves to prison. If desired, set the parameters of your experience so you are conscious of what you want to happen in your life. Perhaps begin to perceive that which is invisible to us are blinders and walls for us to amuse ourselves. Chasing after cheese in a maze can be entertaining. And notice how the maze or story is always changing with the weather conditions or waves of vibration. Nothing has to be taken seriously. Everything can be considered pointless, which can be described as pure love. With no point to attach to, one is always free to float about.

To experience something unique, just say or conjure up what you would like to resonate with at this moment, and enter the field and parameters that you personally set forth to feel something new, knowing that this is not who you are. It is a costume. Reset the parameters often for variability to channel new sensations into one's life.

Bern, as you highlight, a focus on words is an effort to grasp something you already have or know that defies words. You think you need something to grasp nothing.

Perfection as viewed and projected by ego may come across as arrogance. Yet, to sense divine perfection unrelated to the ego mind is to connect with a timeless internal state and feel no desire to share it in words.

If nothing but silence existed, the human mind would not grasp that. Only as something takes form does mind begin to understand the invisible. So, to know perfection, the human mind often creates a sense of imperfection. This is part of a process or sensing beyond it.

Alexys, this phrase you mention I first saw as a humorous cartoon poster on a bathroom wall. Food for thought!

Some poeple view evolution as impertect and perfection the result of remembering what exists beyond the mind.

WHAT?! I'm not as enlightened as I think I've become? :)

The other day I was on the Internet at the library (as we 'd had a home computer crash, luckily we lost no data.) And a woman sitting beside me was talking to herself as she was working on the computer, which I was not in the mood for -- it distracted me. So I rose, feigned looking at the magazine rack for a minute, then discreetly moved to another computer table far enough away from her that I could no longer hear her ramblings.

Had I stayed at the computer beside her, what lesson was the experience of being annoyed and distracted trying to teach me? I have no idea. Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for a great life lesson in enlightenment that day.

Tis not a question of being perfect, it is simply a question of being!

Jannie, many people tell themselves it is desirable to escape from a source of discomfort. To take yourself out of range of a perceived source of distress does often calm the mind, at least temporarily. Yet, distress does not disappear forever unless you reconnect with an unwavering love and self-acceptance within. So long as something annoys, you have not reached unconditional acceptance of everyone and also of yourself. Intolerance of others is a mirror of how you reject parts of you.

Part of you may wonder how to love unconditionally. Discern how discomfort is a teacher. Restlessness speaks to you about how you resist silence. It draws attention to certain things you may not consciously grasp. As a person comes to sense emotion as a gauge, it is easier to notice when you are making choices right for authentic self.

'From the moment you view yourself as healed, gifted, successful, knowledgable, enlightened, some part of you already tells you this is not true." So true.... Also, from this moment, something is evidently telling us that we were imperfect in some way but are better now. Another form of judgement.

Blessings, Liara.

Possibly, the thing we give our energy away the most is to thinking. If we can simply observe thought, impartially, it diminishes, and Truth emerges.

It is impossible to be perfect in this reality. This reality is fundamentally based on imperfection - difference, etc. Imperfectio (differetion) is what sets things apart from each other.
Differntiation is the name of the game.
The media and T.V try and sell ideas of perfection, uniformity which lead people to chase an unattainable reality. This also corresponds to the ego traits of not being good enough and needing more, and the present state - or whatever - not being enough. The ego is an illusion. To 'gain' anything is an impossibilty, and whateve gain apparently is gained must be accounted for. Whatever goes up has to come down.
The ego will also be less than and not good enough and imperfect since it is it's very nature wich is in contrast to that wich is complete, perfect etc.
The ego itself isn't a problem, but when people identify with this that or whatever it can only lead to confusion about one's identity, since that sort of stasis is an illsuion. I am a different pearson every moment, maybe very similar, but different. No too things are the same
Who am i? i am infinate potential , i am whoever ar whatever i choose to be in this moment, i would say. I have the potential to be or do anything. Obviously there are many things that effect this though, like the life one is born into etc.
I would also say it's not about attaining anything, because attaing something implies a condition. i already am that wich i seek.
If theres something about someone i love, that is me. Everything i perceive is me. There is only one, anyway, expressed in many different forms. This makes the 'other' an impossibilty, and thus 'gaining' something an impossibilty, yet from the ego's perspective evrything else is an 'other', making life very deceptive indeed, but it is like this for a reason, so the One can experince itself subjectively, as an (ilusiory) other.

Like you say Liara, a mistake is only a mistake from that particualr perspective that is seeing it as a mistake.
A coin has two sides. Every positive has a negative , and all that.
In reality there are no winners, or losers. Everything comes into balance (karma). What's a loss for the ego is usually a gain for the higher self. etc
Also i notice how you mention success. success, qualifications and things like that are more traits of the ego needing to state it's existance, since it's existance is an illusion , it requires other peoples awareness of it to have any existence. Success implies un-successfull. It's easy to see how the traits of the ego show up in reality as heirarcichal sytems of all sorts (where success is involved).
Again this is just a couple of thoughts, do not think for a second this is my only opinion. My vies also are not static, not biased one way, but when using language, things are instantly limited to one thing at one time.
It would be easier not saying anything think at all, yet hear i am

Hi Liara .. this post resonated with me having just watched the Abrahams Hick video ... and your sentence "From the moment you view yourself as healed, gifted, successful, knowledgable, enlightened, some part of you already tells you this is not true." The mind does interfere as one moves through the day and our agendas change. I'll try and remember the vortex and view myself as being in that state with everything in place - my completeness there for my taking and acceptance.

Thanks - Hilary Melton-Butcher

Mark, as you imply, being present is a core reality for the authentic self. In the same moment, an energy being is perfection. The go invents imprefection based on its own self-interest. To move beyond is a state of mind.

cordie, the true self only ever echos thoughts and feelings of pure love and unconditional acceptance. To sense rejection, resistence or anything else other than love is coming from a part of yourself that is not yet ready to accept your core perfection. As you notice negativity, you are already detaching from it and observing from a higher vantage point. To notice the silent witness within is very empowering. I explore this and invites readers to do so in my Self-Disclosure: Changes from within book available through this website and other distributors. My new Cosmic Synchronicity book explores similar concepts on anohter level of awareness. Readers are always invited to actively participate in their own way.

Kaushik, the truth is always available to those willing to embrace it. The mind provides fog and invites you to disperse it. You are an active participant and observer.

Dave, energy beings are invited to transcend the external influences you describe and to see through the illusions projected by the mind. As you realize you never leave where you are, you progressively peel away the layers of unfounded beliefs to rediscover heaven within.

Hilary, self-acceptance is always within reach, in fact, you have it now. The mind denies its necessary or possible in order to pull wool over your eyes. As you gradually peel that wool away, you realize you are a perfect energy being undergoing a profound learning process. Its amazing!
