I'm writing a manuscript on inspirational mentors.  These kinds of people reveal qualities, behaviors and convictions that empower others to reframe their lives.  And yourself?

Have you ever thought about your own inspirational mentors? Readers of this blog would like to hear your views. Who are some of the people who have helped you evolve and view yourself differently? What have you gained? What advice would you offer to others now?

Malcolm Gladwell for sure - That is where it all began. The very first book I read as an adult was Tipping Point, followed by Blink. It was these two books that left me thinking. Malcolm got me started with self-help books, and here I am, a few short years later. My inspiration comes from everywhere. Clients, people I encounter along my journey, family, friends and nature.

Sonny Terry. If you ever hear him play harmonica you'll understand why...

I would have to say that everyone who has ever touched me in a way is a spiritual mentor. Specifically, I would say that my Mom was a great spiritual mentor for me, even though she did not know it. I also find great peace and understanding in Dr. Wayne Dyer. Truly, there are so many.

Bruno, Its meaningful to recognize that you find widespread inspiration. To be able to follow the thread back to pivotal moments or life-changing experiences is forever priceless.

Michael, You've intrigued me about Sonny Terry. I may recognize his music better than his name! I would highly recommend the film, August Rush, for you to glimpse Robin Williams playing his harmonica. Its wonderful to realize you can always expand yourself.

Mark, our mentors become even more life-transforming as we develop an awareness of both cause and effect. Its an eye-opening experience to pinpoint who has influenced how you live your. You heighten your awareness as you realize why you choose to listen or, whats key to their appeal for you. Chance is but a view for reasons not yet recognized.

Liara,

I get inspired by average people who display wisdom that life has to offer. Deepak Chopra is another great thinker whom I respect a lot.

Shilpan, it makes sense to value people who empower you to expand your mind and how you view the world. Chopra certainly stimulates our imagination and deeper reflection.

Anju, mentors remind us that we have lots of untapped abilities. Its like a way to rejuvenate the spirit and remind us that any thing is possible if we believe in ourselves.

I find my inspiration from so many different places ... I've tried to create a montage of them in and around my blog Sapphokinesis.

Donna, we attune to many unspoken messages within ourselves. We react to people who prompt us to think or behave differently. In their own ways, they encourage us to become more self-aware. It may not always be straightforward to clarify how each person helps us along our path, but we invite people into our lives for a reason. Our motive may be unconscious, but its constant and life-changing, even if its subtle. Nothing happens by chance. If you are unaware of the role someone plays in your life, you may simply not yet recognize the cause and effect of your thoughts. People help us evolve.
