10 common mistakes & how to avoid them

Some people get drowsy or feel drained at particular times of the day. When do you feel most energetic or grumpy? You may feel prone to certain situations and struggle to grasp why. Consider these ten common mistakes and how to avoid them;

1) Believe mistakes exist. In truth, all experience is valuable and the concept of mistake is misleading. In essence, you convince yourself you have done something incorrect as a distraction from learning. To decide all experience is valuable shifts your focus from the illusive duality of right and wrong.

2) Choose not to pay attention. Deciding not to notice your behaviour suggests apathy or indifference and also possible unconscious motives. Anyone with this mindset is vulnerable to missed opportunities. Choosing to raise self-awareness empowers you to play a more active role in your destiny.

3) Blame circumstances on timing. How you choose to use the time you are given is what determines the nature of your life. If you hesitate to make certain decisions based on assumptionsabout "the right time," then you areunaware this mindset is problematic. Nothing is set in stone, now or ever.

4) Allow emotions to control you. Strong emotions emerge to reflect feelings about security, esteem and self-worth. People do not always realize that intense emotions distort their perception and trigger reactions that can be counter-productive. To shift in meaningful ways, make adjustments. Emotions can guide, but they are not your decision-makers.

5) Raise expectations. Whenever you anxiously await or anticipate things to happen, you forget about presence and get stuck in a future mindset. To heighten your expectations is to strengthen your footfold in the future. This does not help you as much as if you learn to dissolve yens for specific outcomes.

6) Assume you know everything. Pride, shame, fear of humiliation all surface in relation to arrogance. If you only believe you experience the truth, you are not open to receiving energy in form of other people's truths. Lao Tzu also adds, "Without going out-of-doors, one can know all he needs to know. Without even looking out of his window, one can grasp the nature of everything. Without going beyond his own nature, one can achieve ultimate wisdom... without undue exertion."

7) Ignore intuition. Not listening to your inner voice implies you lose touch with reality. Your mind, body and spirit are not consistently aligned. If they are, youhave unwavering faith in your premonitions and gut feelings. Trust in how to apply abilities is the secret of reconnecting to your core self. Unlock your inner door. You hold the key to intuitive understanding.

8) Allow dilemmas to perplex you. When you permit conditions outside yourself to control you, this distracts you from presence. You may be choosing to learn from a particular distraction, but recognizing it for what it is is the beginning of dissolving it. Choose to be solutions-oriented.

9) Be closed-minded. Not opening up keeps you in the dark about your conditions and what you are bound to encounter. To gain insight into what helps and hinders you, just observe whatgoes on around you. Work to transcendlayers of mystery and clarify what makes sense as you learn what not to do.

10) Get caught up in ego. A focus on material goals, external approval or competition suggests you are fixated on self-interest and measurable results. This kind of mindset invites energy imbalances.  Learning about energy healing and alignment is helpful in relation to psychological patterns. You can employ practical techniques to help detach from ego.

The biggest risk ever follow-up #3

As you evolve through your own life, there may come a time when you stop asking questions and begin savoring each moment.  The idea of taking risks implies you have a hidden fear that things will not work out. You can move beyond that to transcend risk.

For anyone who has been reading "The biggest risk ever" series of posts, you may be wondering what has been  happening with the fairytale romance of two strangers who met in passing on a bus in a foreign country.  Why not share your own risky experience?

People make of their conditions whatever they wish.  You create your dream.  We are each our own messenger of truth. We choose experiences that challenge and stretch us, that may cause us to feel less than worthy.  Yet, whatever you have done or not done, wherever you have been or decided not to go, true love finds you.  Open your senses.

My own fairytale continues.  The marriage is planned to take place as an evening wedding sail  in August on a tall ship.  Funny, how you may have a premonition about an experience and realize your thoughts and feelings are more powerful than you realize.  The revelations that unfold inside me throughout this experience are phenomenal.

I sense that as you learn to open yourself up to unconditional love, you realize there is more to it than you ever imagined.  Learning to love yourself brings unexpected joy.  All the questions answer themselves.  As you nurture faith and trust, you transform your perception.  Seven countries and an adventurous train trip open my senses wider. One creates and dissolves the illusion of risk. Trust your intuition. Trust the universe. Discover they are one in the same.

Lighten your load

Your thoughts and beliefs sometimes create feelings of heaviness which are misplaced and misguided. What would it take for you to release any blocks that prevent you from living a more uplifting life? What would you have to do to hear what your Higher Self tells you? This core of being never ceases to tell you how much you are loved as you are.

If you detect an awkward heaviness, its an invitation to lighten your load. Learn to anchor the mind in a new place. Seeking self-improvement reflects a desire to feel better about yourself, yet it overlooks that faults and weakness only exist in the mind.

Learn to listen, trust, and take action guided by the fun-loving accepting heart. If certain choices evoke discomfort, notice what these geelings point toward. You can explore this. Shifting attention to what you imagine feels good brings this forth.

You are alive and everything you do or do not do can only help you. Listen to heartfelt messages to know all burdens are illusion. Discomfort signals your desire to heal a wound you come to feel is no longer there. Anger reminds you untapped energy can be transformed and rechannelled. Worry teaches the power of trust. Know everything is a disguised form of love pointing to how it feels to be yourself.  Its the simplest thing to do.

Use your power to alter your life

What if someone brought your attention to the idea you only remember aspects of yourself that you consciously manifest? That is, you are selective.  You focus and limit the attention of your brain based on what you think you know. What if you miss the crux?

You might say, “Whoa there! Life isn’t really as I see it?” At the same time, somewhere, not so far away, in the back of your head, echoes a persistent, “Nope...”

The fact of the matter is, in all likelihood, you choose not to listen to this voice as much as you could.  Ego quashes it, to deny the truth, for reasons you don’t yet recognize.

Take your senses. From a young age, you train yourself to organize information based on what you’re taught is traditional sight, smell, taste, touch and hearing. You make comparisons. You’re taught certain experiences are ‘taken in’ and described using certain senses.  That approach supposedly makes your views more easily understood. Yet, you limit yourself based on conditioned beliefs about the right thing to do and when.

As your body cringes in apparent confusion,  you may ask yourself why you assume other ‘right’ or ‘useful’ ways don’t exist.  Do you take a trusted person's word for it? Why do you choose to give another human being's word or experience your trust?

What if future experiences need not be interpreted by your senses as you have done before? Your power lies in your current experience.  Beneath your reflex reactions, your being reacts to events in ways that break your normal patterns.  Are you ready to listen?

What if someone tells you that you can ingest information through different mechanisms? This means you can see aromas, hear colour, taste light, feel sound, even if these aren’t your current ways of perceiving.  You can even interpret time and events differently.  What if your current physical experience is merely a choice among possible realities?

Consider that whenever you detect obstacles, you have assumed you will have barriers in your path.  You have assumed something is missing you desire.  The result of which perception of yourself you create and which circumstances you choose combine to highlight your source of power.  You force your mind to view your life as sequential moments.  Action is thought in motion.  Use your power to alter your life experience now.

"Mind is consciousness which has put on limitations.  You are originally unlimited and perfect.  Later, you take on limitations and become the mind." - Ramana Maharshi

How do you involve your guardian angels?

No matter what you do today, it makes sense to reflect on how you involve your guardian angels.  What's that?  You don't know?  You're not sure if you noticed them or they, you? Is that a conscious choice or a lack of awareness of what's really happening in your life?

1) Did you encounter green circulation lights or bypass a car accident today?

2) Was a vacant parking space calling out to you?

3) Has your overworked computer churned out another document without a hitch?

4) Did a stranger do something kind for you then, disappear?

5) Were you able to get up at all, with minimal pain and discomfort?

6) What about that close call where you nearly lost something you cherish?

Listen to yourself. Whenever you use words like, "coincidence", "blessings" or "luck," this can also be a sign of heavenly intervention. Notice which situations in your own life remind you that you're not alone. Ponder experiences that strenghten your inner resolve, resilience, nurture your faith or prompt you to trust in what you cannot see.
