Attain liberation

In the Crest-Jewel of Wisdom by Shankara, to know the nature of your Soul is to experience, not simply dream of, pure bliss. Perception, as you understand it, and the urge to compare, wouldn’t exist. You would forget. You would unlearn everything you have been conditioned to believe. You would see anew and be self-satisfied.

To value silence and be void of desire are what truly cause the greatest happiness. You wouldn't think about the past or speculate on the future. You would be indifferent to present. Time and space would have no meaning. How many people have you met who live quietly as if spectators, free from all desire and change?

William Wordsworth viewed Soul and a sense of home as points of self-realization. What does this passage from his poem, "Intimations of Immortality" mean to you?

Our birth is but a sleep and a forgetting;
The Soul that rises with us, our life star,
Hath had elsewhere, its setting,
And cometh from afar.
And not in utter nakedness,
But trailing clouds of glory do we come
From God, who is our home
.

Retrieve soul memory

One approach to goal-setting is to consider it a process that can enable you to remember what you forgot.  Whenever you learn something, you focus and other ideas fade into the background.  Some people believe each person is born with a soul that has a silent understanding of the world. Yet, most grow up to forget and evolve away from love, compassion and the original life views.

You may describe the state of 'soul memory' as thinking differently during different life phases. We do so believing in our passing choices and perceived priorities.  Yet, lessons are always there for us to learn.  The question is, which ones do you notice?  How will you take steps to get something out of each one? Or, will you even bother?

1) Do you hold narrow views? People around you may say you appear rigid or dogmatic.  Are you the type who believes you're always right?  If you know anyone like this and you're on the receiving end, are you judgmental and close-minded about their behavior? Look in the mirror. Ask yourself how you feed off of each other's energy.  You may wish to rethink reactions.  How you interact has underlying goals.

2) Does your mind control your feelings?  Certain people are so very 'results-oriented' that they miss the beauty and opportunities in front of them.  They may convince themselves work is more important than relationships or other life experiences.  If you know anyone like this, consider how your own choices may purposely go in the opposite direction or somewhere in between. Discern how you react or not.  Each of us has obvious and not-so-obvious reasons for our choices.

3) Are you even a tad bit insensitive?  To lack insight or experience may be interpreted by others as insensitivity or a lack of understanding.  Ignorance is not bad unless you lable it as such.  Whatever your belief system, you are now on a journey of self-discovery. Innate goals involve learning.  Your conscious and unconsscious choices determine the "how," "with whom" and "why."

Part the clouds & move ahead

Now here's a quirky thought: what if your perceived success today not only grows from what you choose to learn and apply from earlier experiences in this life.  What if your stumbling blocks to greater fullfillment and happiness relate to a past life memory?  Insight into past life regression has helped people break undesirable patterns of behavior.  How might you empower yourself to move forward now? Would you be willing to take steps to learn, listen and read yourself differently?

Consider a man who was having trouble with his rebellious son.  The boy was bullying other children at school and refused to obey authority.  The man had a difficult time forcing his son to conform.  He was at his wit's end.  Yet, he also only saw in others what he desired to see.  He was also blind to some of his own destructive patterns.

The day came when he had the urge to investigate his own view about one of his past lives.  He assumed he had a certain role and status in history and he sought a specialist to have his view confirmed.  To his surprise, he learned his assumption was slightly inaccurate.  His attention was also drawn to some unresolved issues from that past life that were repeating in himself and his son in this one. He decide certain of his habits required attention.  He realized he was repeating negative and hurtful patterns.  His son was like a mirror who had been conditioned.

That glimpse of past life regression prompted this man to seek counselling and psychotherapy.  Gaining insight into one of his past lives empowered him to acknowledge and address negative patterns within himself. By his own initiative, he took steps to unlearn and reteach himself new habits which transferred into his proferssional and family life.  He redefined success from inside.  He changed his career and found new ways to serve others. He parted his clouds and moved ahead.

This story teaches that each of us is in the process of learning soul lessons.  We will only change ourselves and our circumstances when we're ready to progress.  This will happen at our own pace.  Every choice we make, every person we meet, will offer useful things if we decide to see.  Remind yourself you experience everything for a reason.  If you decide to access a past life, it makes sense to gain insight into how to heal a neative pattern in your current life.  Such an experience doesn't have to hold you back.  It can propel you forward. How will you see success next?

Jumpstart your greatest healing potential

People hear stories about witch doctors, modern physicians, shamans and holistic healers, but seldom realize we all have an inclination toward specific types of healing. We develop and explore healing options consciously and unconsciously, at our own pace.

You guessted it! We all have healing talents and are more receptive to certain kinds of healing practices. Yet, many people don't realize this or take steps to apply this to perceived states of well-being. Where might you fit in? A good starting point is to recognize your innate strengths in a sense or in combinations of senses. What will you do after you identify yours?

1) Are you an avid listener? People with a knack for healing through words are to whom you'll most likely confide. Ever find yourself suddenly opening up to a friend, relative or, even random strangers in passing? This would imply you're drawn to their healing energy and feel comfortable sharing private feelings and intimate parts of yourself.  Maybe you're also an exceptional talker? Certain healers help others by listening, speaking and sensing vibration. Its all in tone, word choice and establishing a human conection. When these healers don't apply their talents, they tend to block their energy flow, and may experience headaches. Tools such as Tibetan Singing bowls are effective.  Cells vibrate and hear.

2) Are you sensitive to touch? You may be the sort of person who naturally hugs or kisses people you meet because its automatic. Being touchy-feely is just who you are. You may also intuit when people establish boundaries in their personal space. Its a question of knowing who likes to be touched and feeling comfortable talking about the power of touch. These people work with the skin, seek to soothe muscles, and sense benefits of applying gentle pressure or massage. Head, neck and shoulder tension can build up in muscles if you fail to use touch-healing abilities.

3) Are you aware of energy & auras? Some individuals have no need for physical touch to help others heal. If you sense energy fluctuations as you bring your hands close to the physical body, this implies you have potential as an "auric" healer. You can grasp how to unclog and channel energy flow. If you under-utilize innate auric abilities, you may sense energy build-up, tension or arthritis in arms and hands.

4) Are you the type to visualize? You may retain and share the most detail through your visual senses. This doesn't assume you simply look at people and heal ailments on the spot. However, you may visualize the source of someone's health problem and help alleviate pain and suffering, even when the person isn't nearby. You may use your mind to intend problems to be cured. You can imagine all the steps a person would experience internally during a physical or emotional process of recovery. At the same time, visual healers resist focusing on long-term outcomes. To send a message of healing through love, telepathy and positive visualisation, is the goal.
