Dream Analysis of the Week- Repeated Awakening

Dream

I dreamed my alarm went off, startled me. It quickly hit I had overslept, forgot to sit exams. The dates were circled in red on the calendar on a bulletin board hanging above my nearby desk. If that was not bad enough, I opened a letter that had been slide under my door. It said I had an another exam to write for a course I forget to drop.  My breathing went shallow, I began to sweat. So, I lay back down, closed my eyes, heard my beating heart, slowed my breathing. When I opened my eyes again, my bedroom furniture had moved. I also had a green plant. I was aware I had finished college years ago. I shook my head again, closed my eyes and then a real alarm woke me up. I was lying down again.

Insight:

To feel panic when you awaken from a dream; a sense of being desperately unprepared, stressed, scared and worried, invites that you meditate on the feelings.  Silence the mind and ‘stay’ present with the emotions that stand out. Let them guide you to the underlying and core issue.  Where else in your life might evoke feeling unprepared, stressed, desperate or scared?

As it happens, this might be about a life transition you are going through or change and growth in personal relationships. What is it, unrelated to dream exams, that you might feel unprepared for? It might be feelings of inadequacy or self-doubt about a new life chapter. It might be about experiencing a lack of life balance, too much pressure, a sense of overwhelming responsibilities or a reflection of an inner conflict.

Another view is this is a false awakening dream. Such false awakenings are viewed as a hybrid or overlap of timelines, states between sleep and wakefulness. Those who know false awakenings may also lucid dreams.

In a lucid dream, the dreamer realizes s/he is dreaming. This knowledge allows you to maintain some control over your surroundings and even change the course of the dream. If this was lucid, ths student might have consciously turned the alarm clcok back and decided to to go back in time to awaken in time to take the exams, reclaim control of the unfolding experience. Many lucid dreams commonly end in false awakenings. You might even “wake up” and start describing your dream to someone else before truly waking up.

A false awakening can become a lucid dream, especially if you begin to notice certain details that differ slightly from reality.  For example, your furniture might not be in the usual place, your lamp might not turn on, or you might open a book and find you can’t read any of the words.  Suspecting you aren’t actually awake might lead you to try manipulating the dream in some way or telling yourself to wake up. This is part of an empowerment process that redefines a different kind of awakening and reclaiming of power.

5 Tips to eliminate stress forever

At different stages, you may think you feel stressed and share stories about it. Listen to words and tenses you use to describe observations.   You may fear history will repeat or worry about what has not yet happened.  How do you keep your head above water?

Perhaps you also allow the mind to linger on missed opportunities because you felt something was too risky or you feared what would happen and got stressed.  Be attentive to how often you write and speak in the present tense.  Rest assured, life  exists beyond stress, and it is accessible to all.  Ponder these 5 tips to eiminate stress forever;

1) Let go of the past.  You cannot change the past so why spend your time thinking about it and talking about it? Watch what happens when people around you do this.  The pulse races, adrenalin kicks in and an emotional roller coaster can take over.  Know that a silent observer beyond brain and mental noise can shift your focus of attention.

2) Stop worrying about the future.  Consider what happens as you allow thoughts to dwell on the future.  Fear encroaches.  Stay in the present moment and do what is necessary to prepare your mind for any challenges you may face around the corner.

3) Be a rubbish bin with a hole in the bottom.  Notice people dump their stories of frustration, imbalance, anger and pressure on you.  You can dwell onthem or allow them to pass through you.  Similarly, you can dwell on your thoughts and perceptions or focus attention beyond them.  Thinking about things reveals itself as the hard part.

4) Explore meditation.  Allowing the mind to recell the feeling of emptying helps you trust that letting go of thoughts.  Notice the longer you hold onto a full glass of water (or something else), the heavier it gets.  Similarly, the longer you cling to memories of experiences and discuss them, the more they weigh you down.

5) Focus on the present moment.  Listen to the signs of the body.  Notice that you only get sick if you grow desensitized about what the body is telling you.  Notice the basic energy level of the brain and other body parts. Notice how often you ignore your body.  Notice how when you are kind and rest appropriately, you can perform to a very high standard.  Without rest, you are inefficient.

Who sees you as you are?

Human beings dream of being seen or accepted as they are.  As you come to feel whole and complete inside, your perspective of the world shifts. Do you see me as I am?  Do you see yourself as you are?  How do you know or confirm it? What does that feel like?

Few people choose to look into themselves or through the eyes of people directly.  You are conditioend to think this is a scary thing.  Why is this? Could it be that when you look directly, you see through external appearances.   What prompts you to turn away?

Eyes are described as windows into the soul.  You look into somebody's eyes and see reflections of your true self.  That is, what you desire to see and anything you would prefer to overlook or forget.  Unconditional love and acceptance are often traded away.

When you see yourself as you are, you reconnect with your soul, with everything and everyone. Should this worry you?  Of course not! Then, why do so many people resist taking responsibility for how they feel? For their core choices, decisions and creations?

People often prefer to push away or ignore who they are.  They wish find what appears missing. They think what they need is a person or relationship to feel more complete. be honest with yourself. If you find you know yourself deep down, if you see things as they are. how would your life actually change? What do you really have to fear?

Whatever your answer, to selectively forget the truth has some appeal. People go to great lengths to test endurance, faith, resiliance, relationships, to expand perception, and more. Discover what happens as you stop hiding from yourself, and true abilities. Discover the implications of raising awareness of your core connection with soul.

"The common eye sees only the outside of things, and judges by that, but the seeing eye pierces through and reads the heart and the soul, finding there capacities which the outside didn't indicate or promise, and which the other kind couldn't detect." - Mark Twain, Joan of Arc
