What would you do?

What would you do? You make the choice. Don't look for a punch line, there isn't one. Read it anyway. My question is: Would you have made the same choice?

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves learning-disabled children, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its dedicated staff, he offered a question: 'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does is done with perfection. Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do. He cannot understand things as other children do. Where is the natural order of things in my son?' The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, physically and mentally handicapped comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.' Then he told the following:

Shay and his father had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball. Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?' Shay's father knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but the father also understood that if his son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

Shay's father approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play. The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning. I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.' Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt.

His Father watched with a small tear in his eye and warmth in his heart. The boys saw the father's joy at his son being accepted. In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three. In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field.

Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as his father waved to him from the stands. In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat. At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball. However, as Shay stepped up to the plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact. The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.

The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay. As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher. The game would now be over. The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman. Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates. Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first! Run to first!' Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base. He scampered down the baseline, wide-eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!' Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base. By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball ... the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.

He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally threw the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home. All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay!'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third! Sha y, run to third!' As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!' Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team.

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'. Shay didn't make it to another summer. He died that winter, having never forgotten being the hero and making his father so happy, and coming home and seeing his Mother tearfully embrace her little hero of the day!

What do you do when you outgrow someone?

Some human beings believe they live in a complicated and confusing world.  They struggle to maintain relationships and, wonder what they may be doing wrong when tension or trouble emerges in interactions. You may sense this yourself.  After all, how do you feel when you no longer relate to people you know? What does this say about your dreams?

When was the last time you felt like you had outgrown a phase of your life and the people who were in it? How did you deal with that?  During certain moments, confusion can turn to inner understanding.  Fear and discomfort or awkwardness melt away.  Every stage in your personal metamorphosis encourages you to choose the path of least resistance.

Rest assured.  You never lose your way. You are on a journey to master yourself in all situations.  You are touched by the realisation that each person you encounter is real and assisting you to realize how vital each life experience you have truly is.

Consider that each friend, family member or other person in your life draws your attention to facets of your inner self. You are being invited to acknowledge, change or release attachment to certain beliefs. Similarly, you are periodically invited to detach from relationships that no longer serve you.  You can love yourself and everyone, and move on to evolve into something simple and uncomplicated.  Share a piece of your story.

Why is the supernatural a topic to be avoided?

An intriguing statement caught my attention which introduces a new series on Discovery tv: on the evidence of one person, a jury can convict a man to death yet, when sightings concern the supernatural or alien encounters, even after thousands of people provide testamonials, the jury is still out on its verdict of the truth. What is your view?

One position is that only through gaining insight into the supersensible do the basic senses acquire meaning.  That is, only by evolving to explore the inner parameters of the mind would you begin to grasp physical worlds have definite parameters.

You may think you must have heightened perception to believe this kind of thing is possible, and yet, that is not the case.  It has been suggested anyone can decide to become a researcher of  the senses.  In fact, it may only require humility and reserve.

Why does Science as a community have to offer its blessing and be perceived as the authority fo all human knowledge? This would seem to create and perpetuate multiple levels of prejudice that prevent human beings from learning to evolve and experience higher realities for themselves.  Explore a path to arrive at a satisfying explanation.

Where does your information originate?

When a piece of information jumps into your mind, where does that come from? Some people do not accept the idea of spirit guides or guardian angels. They prefer instead to sense their revelations come from their alter ego.

If you take the view that your position on this subject is like a metaphor of your sense of reality, then you may even go so far as to believe you obtain information from altered states of consciousness.  To begin to perceive these states on a more conscious level is to enable you to sense that such information has never 'arrived.'  Rather, it always is.

Some people evolve in mindset and perception to visualize levels of energy.  This helps them decipher forms of information that are noticed and used at different stages.  You learn what you need to know, what you are ready to accept.

How is it that you have arrived in the attitude and mindset you have right now? It is all part of a far-reaching process you are only beginning to explore. Learning is why you exist.  You do everything at your own pace.

Tap into the magic within you

Analysis of dream submitted by Anonymous in NSW, Australia.

Dream - A slender, naked dark-skinned man with prominent kneecaps danced alone in a circle. He wore a grass skirt and a long, oval mask. As he moved, he lifted knees one at a time up into the air at his chest-level. He did this effortlessly and also levitated. Then, a small cluster of wooden shacks on stilts appeared. A line of spider twine connected all upper rooms. It shone under moonlight. A woman wearing purple in an upper room heard the clothes line. She got a clear plastic bag holding capers, garlic cloves, strands of green grass and herbs. She threw them in a cauldron on the fire.

Predominant Emotions - excitement, anticipation, caution, self-restraint, peace and joy.

Interpretation - You may detect a deep, inter-cultural connection or attraction to practising magic. Only you define what this phenomenon represents in your life, including whether you desire to interact differently with the supernatural.

If energy flow seems completely natural inside, then you are working effectively through your own self-created illusions. Transparent twine implies invisible inter-connectedness to Forces above and beyond you. Note skills you have or develop are also not always obvious to normal vision or standard human senses.

Certain kinds of awareness are burning more intense within you. The color purple points to spirituality.  Cauldrons are associated with internal transformation.   As you acknowledge the magic you discern within, you discover you have nothing to fear. You do not 'kneed' support because you already have it inside yourself.  In fact, you are bursting with creative energy that would like to be unleashed.  This is an invitation to listen to your intuition and expand your sense of freedom.  Feelings of lightness indicate wonderful changes are occuring. You are exploring new dimensions of your psyche.

Regardless whether you believe you are completely independent and do everything on your own, you are never alone.  This is a lesson that you are re-learning through unexpected arrival of assistance of just what you need when you need it.  You are also realizing you are energetically connected to others who are opening conscious awareness differently than before.
