Reconnect with inner joy--10 Tips

 In the event that you temporarily disconnect from energy and enthusiasm, you can always take steps to reconnect with sources of inner joy.  Consider these ten suggestions and share your own;

1) Allocate regular 'me time' to reflect on what is going well

2) Find the silver lining in your current conditions

3) Celebrate every step along your journey to a goal

4) Spend time with positive and inspirational mentors

5) Create mantras & affirmations that uplift your spirits

6) Focus on your strengths and demonstrate them

7) Anchor your views in present, direct experience not fear of future "what ifs"

Why here, why now?

The mind echoes you are here for clarity, direction, guidance for transitions.  Perhaps you are awakening to tendencies, habits, discomfort and fear about conditions or, you would like assistance to be aware of root causes.  As distracting emotions arise, you may feel they hold you hostage or, prevent something from shifting and noticing another version of life or the truth.  Whatever change you contemplate, you can come to appreciate blessings and opportunities.

Beyond emotional and mental seeing, you access other ways of seeing.  The universe unfolds as it does regardless of how you think and feel.  Without interpretation, awareness and peace are present.  Yet, the mind would have you believe in a series of tests, struggle and pain.  As you step back, what reveals itself about your attachments, dreams, and programming. Which revelations arise?

Starve the anger-eating demons

Being here means you are loving yourself and loving life more than words can say.  Making peace with yourself is about embracing every experience that comes your way and accepting what happens with sincerity. Its about welcoming everything and expressing genuine loving kindness.

Notice how problems arise and what enriches you as you see a purpose.  As you decide something is not going right, you create stress and discomfort.  Notice how you respond to someone who complains to you.   Do you say how you understand, share in the 'pity party' and fuel the fire with negativity? Or, do you say, "is that so?" with indifference or, "well done!" with enthusiasm? 

As you appreciate monsters in your life, they are suddenly less scary. The monstrous situations, anger and negativity do not exert power over you unless you give your power away.   To starve the anger-eating demons, simply love them.  Let go of that conditioned fault-finder. Watch what happens as you find something good in everything.  Accept yourself and all emotions that arise.

Ultimately, physical scenarios and relationships come and go. How you view them is a choice. Knowing this, notice you attract and find what you look for. Nothing exists but what you create.

Reassure yourself

Sometimes, if stress and discomfort build, you may start to feel frustrated or even overwhelmed.  The mind may have you believe you are not in the right place, not doing the right thing.  Many people ask me how to stop overthinking.  When the inner judge captures your attention, questions that arise can trigger emotions at a furious pace. Use mental strategies or learn  to do nothing.  Notice what happens as you retrain the mind and decide everything is always going well.

Rest assured, you are always on the right track.  Everything you think and feel is always conveying messages about what is helping you or hindering you be true to yourself.  Every thought and choice is guiding you.  So when teach question arises, "do I or don't I listen?"  Sharpening your listening skills is a way to be more attentive to what matters to your soul. Listening to your vibes is always in your interest.  Do what you can to sharpen the senses.

Is multi-tasking the solution?

People continue to ask me about the value of multi-tasking.  How often do you tell yourself that you are doing a  lot yet, feel you are getting virtually nothing done?  Feel like you are struggling unnecessarily or going nowhere fast? That's because you are.  See the point? 

In essence, experience is the best teacher.  You offer yourself wisdom every moment but have selective awareness based on judging what is useful. Stop judging and then see what happens.

As you begin to slow down, you see clearer.  Be your Dream.  Realize it is not just noticing you do the things you do that's important. It's also being conscious of them, seeing you attribute or overlook value in everything.  Only you can uncover the underlying purpose behind your own apparent madness.  Delve deeper.  Nothing is purposeless.  Every behaviour speaks through you.
