Emotion is simply a word

'Emotion' is simply a word like any other.    Notice whether you react or respond.    Living through the filters of the mind prompts conditioned reaction.  Heartfelt living triggers love, acceptance and appreciation.  Emotion is felt as a signal that travels through your entire being. To view emotions as a group is to recognize inputs and outputs of energy flow.  Imagine infinite inputs and outputs. The mind does not even begin to classify those which exist. Watch and allow emotion to operate. Energy is constantly flowing. Notice what happens as you begin to see and experience things as they are.

Responding rather than reacting to emotion brings more good emotion.
Energy is always flowing, galaxies are interchanging breaths and smiles among one another.

The word 'emotion' is, to me, a fairly neutral concept. To 'react' infers a spontaneously aroused conditioned reflex. This could be either useful - such a braking a car to avoid an accident, or leaping sideways when someone yells' "Look out!" - or negative, such as when hostility is immediately aroused at a perceived insult.

To 'respond' is nearly always - but not always - the better option. So it is behooves us to watch and be aware so that we can choose rather than react.

"To view emotions as a group is to recognize inputs and outputs of energy flow."

Are emotions feelings or sensations? Is there a difference? We draw the energy in towards this somthing we refer to as our 'self.' We modify and radiate it outwards subject to what we've already got stored within. Our conditioning does the modifying and is, in turn, is further modifield.

Oh, and once again, the use of this word, 'mind,' is so amorphous, so vague. Aren't we talking about 'attention' here?

We are not our mind. Our usual access to mind is that of using it as a personal tool (conscious thought) or an impersonal tool (unconscious mind) The Observer is not thought. Perhaps the Observer's thought is Intuition...

Jannie, the mind focuses attention and judges what is good or bad, desirable or undesirable. Energy flows freely like awareness through everything. Love your analogies with galaxies.

Tom, a true observer does not think. An observer's attention is only here and now. Thoughts invite the mind to focus attention elsewhere. Intuition is felt through the heart. Intuition is not thought. Focus attention on the heart and feel what happens.
