Drop the self-deception

Much of the process of mindfulness is about touching the immediacy of the present moment, the quality of experience as it is. Notice how you can be attentive to whatever arises, to contact and feel infinite forms directly.  Open to notice who you are and what you do. What happens as you stay with it, trust more fully?

Many people are conditioned to be distracted from the present.  Meditation is a way to shift focus back to what is unfolding now.  It helps you realize why you may numb out or turn away from discomfort.

Remind self that if you do not get-to-know fear, then you do not understand fearlessness. You cannot drop conditioning without getting-to-know fear, surrendering and letting go of old ways of thinking and behaving.  You do not evolve alone. Your pain is not a dream.  It connects you with everything. Suffering dissipates as you choose not to focus on the ego self.  How you use beliefs invites you to see alternatives.

As you wish for others to be happy, as you wish for unconditional friendliness toward self, mind and emotions, then you also radiate acceptance out toward others. As you self-reflect, choose to see through your thoughts and feelings, you develop compassion. What unfolds no longer scares you.  Judgment fades.  You develop trust and strength. Insight into all feelings mirrors what other people feel and deeply connects you.  Let things evolve at their own speed. Drop ideals and concepts. There is nothing to measure up to.

Good old fear is a friend. Sometimes we take an "all or nothing" attitude with fear, and end up inert. It's good to be reminded that in present moment, there is no fear. Only unfolding.
Dropping ideals and measuring up sets us free, as you say.

Whoo-hoo!

Jannie, its reassuring to remember that in a given situation, we always operate on some level of immediacy. It is that choosing to be and stay in the now that prevents fear from even arising.

I so enjoyed this post. This has been and continues to be my experience as I awaken and choose to live differently. It's a radically different point of view from what we're taught; isn't it?

Namaste.

Meredith, the mind creates beliefs based on conditioning and doubt arises because what is taught goes against inner knowing. The heart or soul centre has constant access to innate, inner knowing. This is also known as the power of intuition. Some people sense they spend much of their physical lives peeling away layers of conditioning they outgrow or begin to see through as pervasive illusion.

Much of awakening is about coming back to the present. We get easily distracted. We come back and remember. We come back and notice. We come back and notice that much of resistance is conditioned dislike for certain patterns and sensations. We come back and open up to the mystery of simply being open.

"Drop ideals and concepts"

That rings so true...
Plain and simple awareness is a beautiful state of mind.
But we tend to get caught up in ideals and shoulds.
I find meditation retreats a great way to deepen awareness.
Inspiring post!

When one does not judge, one realizes one is good enough. Nature simply is. It does not fluctuate based on action or judgment. If you do not judge duing meditation, there is nowhere to go and nothing to do. When the mind stops, you also stop control. Stillness speaks. All those things a person aspires to attain through control are attained through letting go and remembering how it feels to just be.

Kaushik, some people sense the meaning of life is remembering how to cease controlling. To recall nothing is controlling us, everything feels fine and we know we are free where we are.
