Why laugh at yourself?

Every human being goes through experiences that daze and confuse, and even seem to throw their lives in turmoil. But wait! Your experiences depend on your level of awareness. What you thought was funny at a given moment, stage or age, changes. Why is that? Why are certain cartoons, situations funny and then you get all serious?

When was the last time you reflected on something you said or did and laughed yourself silly? You would notlikely repeat allthings you did in your lifetime. Yet, you can laugh at many of your previous choices, because of what you know about yourself now. Your self-awarenesschanges. Laughter releases tension and gives you amuch widerperspective.

Have you ever imagined what it would be like if older people became younger and younger people grew older only because they were maturing? Individuality is what makes you who you are inside. You conjure up reasons for aging, shrinking, growing, expanding, and for other perceptions. You are given repeated opportunitites to fulfill yourself. The ability to laugh is part of it. Not everyone takes opportunities to laugh and relax the mind.

Ask yourself what laughter teaches you about your own life experience.  For one thing, nothing is as bad as you make it out to be at a given moment. As you stand back from stages of your life, you begin to realize laughter is a dependable friend. It enables you to detach fromyour perceived problems and ailmentsin the physical world. It enables you to change or expand your outlook in positive ways. How much have you laughed today?

Why does anybody suffer?

The physical world is full of examples of suffering. You see images of destruction, poverty, visible ailments of the body, and other conditions that evoke discomfort. On some level, you are invited to identify in your life. Why do you sense you experience, pain, illness, frustration, crisis? This is all part of your evolution. Human beings gradually realize they accept a degree of suffering for a purpose.

You do not grow unless you choose different experiences that provide you with lessons to learn. Some people believe that this learning curve is the fundamental purpose for being. If you do not gain a sense of what you do not want to feel, then you are unable or unwilling to sense the opposite.

Part of your evolution includes moving beyond mechanical reflex reactions you expect to feel. From childhood, you learn by example. You watch, listen and learn. Your assumptions emerge from conditioning by your human senses. You absorb more than you realize. This physical life offers opportunities to retrain the mind.

For example, as you trip and fall, your subconscious expects an impact, expects some feeling of pain. You may think you will skin your knee or worse. Then, that is what happens. If you touch fire, then you expect to be burnt. That happens too, even when you do not consciously do this on purpose. If you do a belly flop rather than a proper dive into water, you expect a painful result and, splat! You get it.

Sometimes watching someone experience pain is enough to keep you from doing the same thing. Yet, your unconscious decides to experience suffering to create your own reference. What happens in your soul shapes you. Nothing changes personal responsibility. You suffer by choice to learn. When you decide you are in control of your lessons and how you perceive them, your view changes.

The physical body is a means by which the soul expresses itself on Earth. You elicit constant reactions to people, events and conditions. You either like things or you do not. You either appreciate what happens or you do not. You either accept your role in your current conditions or you do not. Every decision has consequences. This is the universal law of cause and effect. You get how it works.

You do not always realize the soul affects your body and vice versa. You soul knows your needs even if parts of you feel lost and ignorant. This restlessness is only temporary. You decide when each lesson will end.  Each one is different.

How do you measure spiritual progress?

Progress is a movement toward a goal or an assumed higher stage.  Progress is perceived or not perceived, measurable or immeasurable to the human mind.  Instant progress is illusion to the mind yet, this does not mean instant evolution or awakening is impossible.  If what you seek is already here, then the revelation can be instantaneous and you need not go anywhere.

For the mind, no short-cuts  exist to self-mastery. It is all about effort and struggle.   Consider the phrase, ‘As the elevator to your destination is out of order, you are encouraged to take the stairs.’

From another perspective, life is spirit, not matter. The spiritual is not quantifiable. You feel the way.   Any sense of movement is more than spatial. It is successive in its own way.   So, you become what you perceive yourself to be by way of your choices. That is universal law of polarity. Imagine a magnet. How does it feel? Notice conditions and relations you attract. Each thought has implications.

Reflect on school days.  You may think of courses you wished were over before they started. Your mind may still continue this trend as it wanders to job prospects and thinks about promotion before you get the skills. The mind focuses on the future.  It hijacks your attention, triggers stress and impatience.

On another level, speed has nothing to do with spiritual progress.  As you step outside conditioning, you realize the universe shapes your conditions based on how it feels the vibration of your progress.

The time sensed in the heart is only about one thing: how long it takes to be a vibrational match with what you desire.  This reality is all about energy.  As you evolve to be more open to receiving of the flow and go with it, you raise awareness, sense conditions and inner power differently. The universe resonates as you reach milestones.  What manifests tells its own story. Read between the chapters.

In essence, the human mind judges progress based on physical aspects and its logic.  The human mind is unaware of spiritual considerations or does not ascertain energy flow within. Where is your focus of attention? Notice how more than one thing is going on and you choose how and what to see.

Why do we do the things we do?

It is human nature to explain, to analyze and to exert effort to understand.  When have you asked, why did I not behave differently before? Maybe you have been motivated by love or negative vibes.  Maybe you evoke curiousity, confusion, regret or surprise.

It is also human to choose to be oblivious. Has it ever occurred to you that you need not explain everything you feel inclined to do? Have you ever thought that some unconscious motivations are meant to remain mysterious?  How do you tell when to leave it alone?

You may reflect on who you dated at a certain period in your life, why you accepted a particular invitation, why you refused an opportunity or jumped at a job that no longer appeals.  You may ask what prompted you to rebel against a set of rules, or what caused you to stop listening to your inner self.  Your answer at this moment will differ from your past assumptions.  That is because you are constantly growing to better understand.

Some people never ask why? Other people never stop asking why or, do not believe they know how to change their behavior. If you have ever wondered why you permit yourself to ask questions, why you choose to listen to or ignore external advice or, why you permit yourself to stop caring, these questions are less useful to you than acknowledging feelings that go with them. After all, purpose and perception change perpetually inside.

What are you starving for?

Every human being is starving for something. In your own case, you are eager to know what this is. Part of you senses the soul is wanting. Why would this be? After all, you answer all your own questions to the best of your ability.

At a given moment, each person lives a different, personal story. You may not realize that you have no reason to be in the situation you perceive you are in. Perception does not have to build on blind faith. As it happens, you have faculties and abilities you are not using. What prevents you from doing so?

The sustenance you crave is found in ‘the light.’ This mysterious place is found within yourself. Your orientation grows as you reconnect with what evokes good feelings in your life. As you raise awareness of sources of good feelings, you realize this knowledge is always inside you. The nature of energy vibrations tells you certain experiences are meaningful to you. The energy flow revitalizes you.

Whenever doubt arises in your mind, you are hungry for something you have no need to explain. How to dissolve this is discomfort is straightforward. Your underlying motive counts. Where you desire to assist, empower and inspire, that shapes each action you perform, and resonates back in energy you do not see.
