Why do we do the things we do?

It is human nature to explain, to analyze and to exert effort to understand.  When have you asked, why did I not behave differently before? Maybe you have been motivated by love or negative vibes.  Maybe you evoke curiousity, confusion, regret or surprise.

It is also human to choose to be oblivious. Has it ever occurred to you that you need not explain everything you feel inclined to do? Have you ever thought that some unconscious motivations are meant to remain mysterious?  How do you tell when to leave it alone?

You may reflect on who you dated at a certain period in your life, why you accepted a particular invitation, why you refused an opportunity or jumped at a job that no longer appeals.  You may ask what prompted you to rebel against a set of rules, or what caused you to stop listening to your inner self.  Your answer at this moment will differ from your past assumptions.  That is because you are constantly growing to better understand.

Some people never ask why? Other people never stop asking why or, do not believe they know how to change their behavior. If you have ever wondered why you permit yourself to ask questions, why you choose to listen to or ignore external advice or, why you permit yourself to stop caring, these questions are less useful to you than acknowledging feelings that go with them. After all, purpose and perception change perpetually inside.
