Tackle the dogma & rise above it

Professor David Meyers (Hope College, Michigan, USA) invites us to reflect on the basis for our faith or skepticism in extra-sensory perception (ESP).  His research notes that five key British universities have parapsychology units staffed by Ph.D. grads of Edinburgh University’s parapsychology program (Turpin, 2005). Sweden’s Lund University, the Netherlands’ Utrecht University, and Australia’s University of Adelaide are other examples which have added faculty chairs or research units for parapsychology (covering areas of telepathy, clairvoyance and pre-cognition).

However, Meyers also notes widespread research psychologists and scientists, including 96% of the scientists in the U.S. National Academy of Sciences, are very skeptical (McConnell, 1991).  Traditional authority groups and organisations tend to resist change because it threatens their power and control, and sense of grounding. 

If ESP is to gain more widespread credibility, we would need to overturn the scientific belief that human minds are grounded in and shaped by the physical world.  Do you perceive your own world based only on physical sensations? Or, do you sense something else?, something deeper?  Preconceptions can be proven invalid.

Consider dreams. Do you think your own predict your future or, maybe keep you tied to the past? Perhaps they only seem to guide you because you believe they do?  You may recall or reconstruct dreams that explain why events have already unfolded.  Some people assume events only seem to happen by chance.  Do human beings only refer to serendipity because their minds are naturally in search of causes?  Tackle the dogma instilled in your mind.  Find ways to transcend it so as to penetrate truth.

When the pupil is ready, teachers will appear

It may be unconvincing to tell people the world they think they perceive isn't real. This approach may be construed as your judgment.  If you've done this, you may have discovered how everyone doesn't agree. When you're ready to learn more about life in this world and other dimensions, you will naturally attract people who offer much to teach you. As they say, 'when the pupil is ready, teachers will appear.'

As you learn, digest and apply information you absorb, you will find you sense you're being passed from teacher to teacher. As you're ready to expand your horizons, new people will enter your life in a timely fashion. As you stay open to possibilities, you will grasp how an idea or thought is the same in any language. Only the words or gestures used to express it will differ. You can begin to realize thoughts are the universal form of communication. How you transmit thoughts can also evolve.

If you grow to see your physical body as a vehicle, then you can grow to understand that your consciousness can also travel and communicate without your body. Its not so far-fetched. After all, as someone watches you sleep, your mind is succeeding in convincing you that you are in a dreamworld. You will be receptive to whatever mental states and visions you're ready to handle.  How do you feel right now?

As your faith in your intuition strengthens, you'll sense you're on the right path as a teacher. You help yourself and other people who benefit from sharing your journey.

Discern the truth in your dreams

Everybody fears something in this world. The good news is that you can get a handle on it and reframe your life with renewed strength. All fear can be traced to the level of the unconscious mind and the guilt you create from making undesirable choices. Dreams help you gain insight into how and why you can improve yourself. What matters isn't what you learn, but what you actually do with what you learn.

Consider the idea that you're connected to everyone and everything. If your unconscious mind knows this, then why is it you choose to judge and condemn others while awake or asleep? Mistreating others simply means we think we deserve this kind of treatment ourselves. How we behave is like projecting a message about ourselves so that we can heighten our own awareness. What will you do about it?

You may be surprised to realize improving yourself requires learning to discern and break repeated cycles. The way you will experience and feel about yourself isn't determined by how other people perceive and think about you. So, seeking approval isn't the way to go. In actuality, the way you will experience life and feel about yourself is determined by how you choose to perceive and think about others. As you criticize or reject, you only really reject you. Emotions are clues to heal your soul.

Self-improvement then, is all about deciding you'll forgive yourself for reacting with anything other than forgiveness. The kind of truth you need to learn can be heard in your dreams, but what you need to do to evolve isn't a dream. Your sleeping and waking dreams take different forms, but the content and what they aim to teach is the same. Open your mind. Opportunities to grow lie outside your comfort zone.

Success just beyond your scope

Success begins as a decision inside you. It may be time to re-evaluate the rules that guide your life. A sense of success grows from your awareness of inner energy and potential. Where you think you are or what you have done to reach this moment doesn't mean you have tapped into thoughts and feelings that truly sustain you. You become what you think about. How you live today results from your vision, your old desires. Do they work for you? How would you like to expand on the life you know?

Now, you only live in a physical body. You have a job and interact with people in different ways based on what you imagine you will do. You choose how you wish to see yourself and how you will experience your life. Stop there. You are the architect, the draftsperson and designer, the choreographer and scriptwriter. Ever heard the phrase, "all the word's a stage?" Well, you're up there in the light. It's your show. Success unfolds like a choose-your-own adventure. After all, "It's your life!

In a nutshell, everything about the life you lead, the roles you perform, reflect your unconscious view of success. If you sense failure, or mistakes, they may also represent levels of experience and success.  New kinds of success are always around the corner for you.  You build on what yuou think you know.  As you evolve in your skin, your choices of roles and initiatives change. Your sense of success can evolve with you if you make decisions that are compatible with your sense of self.

On another level, you can sense your mind dictates the vibrations which determine what your physical body does and will do. These vibrations influence what you choose to perceive, what you see and don't see.  This translates into your grasp of available opportunities, the kinds of people who enter your life and show you ideas and options beyond your original scope of success. Nothing is beyond your reach so long as you desire, ask, visualize and act.  As they say, "the world is your oyster!"

The more you realize that success is connected to your source of bliss, the more you will find you add value to this world. Imagine what you will do from this day forward! What will you do? How will you seize and make the most of each moment?

4 Ways to access power beyond your pain-body

Do you dream of eliminating pain? According to Eckhart Tolle, the ego-mind seeks to deny the Now and to escape from it. Consider a large part of pain you sense you experience is unnecessary. That's right. Somewhere, deep inside yourself, you decide whether or not to create pain. What if you discovered how to pinpoint the true underlying causes? Would you instinctively turn pain off like a fawcett?

1) At level of thought, resistence takes form in judgment. This implies any pain you think you feel is really a manifestation of some form of non-acceptance. The intensity of your suffering depends on to what degree you resist being what you are. How strongly you resist depends on how strongly you identify with your ego view of the world. Which hidden reasons help you to explain why you resist what is?

2) At the level of emotion, imbalance is prompted by negativity. Emotional pain may be viewed as the cause of physical pain and physical disease.  This means resentment, hatred, self-pity, guilt, anger, depression, jealousy, stress, any doubt or irritation, are all forms of pain. Every pleasure or emotional boost has within it seeds of pain in its polar opposite. Balance and deconditioning are always choices.

3) At the level of time continuum, perceived pain is fragmented. Pain is clearly reinforced by the energy you give it. Each moment you speak about it measures it, adding fuel to the fire and thus, strengthens its life. You create pain in present and combine memories from pain experienced in the past that continue to live in your mind and body. Until you access the power beyond your sense of a pain-body, the residue of pain created and experienced in past merges with and guides the present.

4) At the level of space continuum, you can regain control. As you sense the pain-body as an energy field temporarily lodged in your inner space, you will realize it is a kind of trapped life energy that ceases to flow. So long as you identify with the past, you reinforce a belief that the past is more powerful than the present. Its like believing what already happened is responsible for who you are now, for emotional pain and your inability to be true to yourself. That is the opposite of the truth. Take charge of your inner space whenever you choose.Why not let bygones be bygones?

Granted, it may shock you to realize the power of presence. Yet, from the moment you grasp presence, you break free of attachment. Just as fighting darkness brings more of the same, attempts to fight presumed physical reasons for pain intensify conflict and invite more pain. However, to learn to step back and understand the underlying causes is to accept it as part of the moment, end pain and to move on.
