Practice emptying the mind

To quiet the mind, you may choose to meditate or use another technique. Why do this? It is a means to help you remember how to get in touch with what is you and what is not you.  Take a few moments today and listen to the stillness,or something else you do not typically listen to as clearly as you could.  What do you notice? Who is the watcher? The emotional experiencer? What is really you and what is not?  You awaken to the nature of the conscious and unconscious dreamer within everything right now. Who resonates?

About 15 years ago i started practicing quieting the mind through meditation, and the ego that was in control didn't allow me to do this very well. The moment that my mind went still, I had an overwhelming fear that I was falling into some abyss and that I would not be able to return. I had equated it to death and it actually is a path to Life. It turns out I was in the abyss with an overly chatty mind, and the quiet mind eventually led me to a place of infinite potentiality.

Now I find that by meditating with each moment, I reflect upon the energy that is before me to enter other worlds or the minds of those I encounter to have intimate exchanges.

Hi Liara .. I'd hope to be meditating regularly now - but circumstances have intervened (not right I know) .. so today I will start following your thought - a little quietness and reflection - I need the compassionate peace it will bring ..

Bern, one practice that invites people to perceive differently is to walk the same physical path to a familiar destination and yet, choose to consciously feel body movements, breathing and sensations very differently. Your sharing is always appreciated.

HiIlary, you are already meditating regularly yet, remain temporarily unaware until you choose to be more conscious. From the moment you choose to be more aware of what you think and feel, you forge a more empowering path.

Meditation, when first practiced, is often rigid and is an act of trying. It is often a discipline that explores our attachments where one eventually unzips their perceived identity to find an art of living fluently in the Moment. And to be Alive fully in this moment, we have to kiss and love the environment that we immerse ourselves in both outside our perceived self and within our self. We become see through and honest with the essence of our desires. We dance and sing and smile with the sunshine in all things. The idea of meditation too then vanishes because we are meditating in perpetual motion.
Thanks for that Liara .. I'll bear it in mind ..

Bern, we are grateful for your remarks. The very exertion of effort can complicate the process. Learning to relax can be shifted to focus on remembering.
