What brings you back?

To believe you know everything is not a complete illusion. Yet, to assume you currently access all this inner knowing is misleading. The ego may tell you yes, but the conscious mind echoes it needs more time to clarify and accept it has answers.

As it happens, its a misunderstanding to believe the future will free you from the past. One incarnates on Earth to work through emotions and relearn what is means to exist in the present. Your unconscious past is not useful except insofar as it takes shape at this moment. Awakening from dreams is key.

As you begin to view yourself as a multi-dimensional being, you begin to sense the plane of physical matter you know as Earth is not all there is. As you dream, you can train self to gain insight into how part of you exists on different planes at once. To be conscious of the body when perspective is above and you view closed eyes suggests something is going on beyond the physical. You know this sensation when you feel it.

Astral travelers experience at least two planes; the astral and physical. The astral extends or mirrors the physical plane. Some describe astral as a transition or porthole to access other realms. Each plane has its own rules. Physical laws do not apply in astral. This place in the mind enables you to move beyond conditioned limits and uncover untapped abilities.

Whether awake or asleep, energy beings quest for answers. Dream journeys expand experience and trigger revelations about what is possible. Awakening in the physical world enables rediscovered ideas to come into conscious awareness. All is possible with mental training and discipline.

Astral dreaming offers repeated opportunities where soul guides you to reconnect pieces of fragmented consciousness. You grow to discern where illusion ends and where pieces of truth exist. In essence, the part of you that you do not see brings the rest of you full circle. It begins and ends in mind.

Hi Liara,
Thanks for stopping by my blog! Yours is amazing! I will definitely come back later and read your entries!!

Manon, welcome to what some people would call a path less travelled. Loving the self and being ready to learn requires the willingness to recognize something inside worth exploring. To insist you always feel good and optimistic differs from viewing the self as intrinsically valuable. Its always possible to love and appreciate experience even if obstacles sometimes set you back.

Hi Liara, this post makes me think of a recent realization I have made for myself - I no longer find that I "miss" people or activities I don't have in my daily so called *real* world experience. I merely have to take myself to them in thought or meditation to have equal satisfaction, completely feeling the presence, closeness, and fullness of the experience. It is just as real and rich as anything my body and being physically experiences - sometimes more so, as there is none of the effect from physical pain or illness involved!

A big congratulations for your book's grand entrance into the world!! woo hoo! I'll link you up on my side bar :)
love and peace to you, Karin

Karin, human beings instinctively make choices that bring them back into balance. That is, when you listen closely to the inner self, you do not question sudden choices, unusual experiences or sensations that are registered. You do not judge, but rather, accept energy fully as it flows.

Hi Liara :D!

The title to this article caught my attention on the spot.

"but the conscious mind echoes it needs more time to clarify and accept it has answers" - I agree. But there are people who are blessed to be born knowing the answers to some important questions (the people we call the enlightened ones). Now, our conscience may take several lives to clarify itself and accept it has the answers, right?

"As it happens, its a misunderstanding to believe the future will free you from the past." - true. Before we think of the future, we need to work the present.

For us to understand what goes on in the Astral plane, we need to cleanse our mind of conditioned limits (as you called it) and break old mental patterns (i.e. we need to free ourselves from the chains of the physical plane - even though we need them to live in it...tricky, but I think you know what I mean). Travelling through the Astral plane can offer us many answers to problems in the physical plane...do you agree?

If we coach our mind, we can walk around dreams as easily as we walk around "awaken" life. But this takes a lot of discipline.

"All is possible with mental training and discipline." - I hadn't read this part yet lol...

Indeed, discipline helps us discerning what is illusion and what is "real".

Excellent article!

Cheers

Max, every human being is at a particular stage of conscious awareness. It is said infinite levels exist. Consider ten very powerful words: "If it is to be, it is up to me." The message is straightforward and immeasurable.

In reality, everyone has access to profound inner knowing. Not everyone chooses to accept or realize this. Why? Human beings selectively forget layers of truth because its easy and some people are falsely convinced ingnorance is bliss. Each energy being has free will. You can hold an opinion or choose not to judge. Silence is also a choice.

I've heard of the term astral plane for years of course but assumed it was some kind of a fancy jet for exotic vacations. And, I guess it is!

"If it is to be, it is up to me." Is there no end to your wisdom, Dr Covert?

Jannie, every human being has access to infinite inner wisdom. Each person is in the process of jogging the memory for what he incarnated to do. Astral travel is an exciting option to explore. Other planes exist. As you choose to create new levels of authentic power in your life, you make unimaginable self-discoveries. You make your way back to where you ahev always been. Its as if you are Alice in Wonderland waking up from a life transforming dream. Disregard the white rabbit's apparent stress and nagging pocket watch. May dreams continue...

Hey Liara,

I agree that humans do choose to forget layers of truth because it makes their existence more bearable (knowing the truth is anything but easy).
Ignorance is never a bliss (no matter how sugar-coated it may be).

"You can hold an opinion or choose not to judge. Silence is also a choice." - true.

Hi Liara - I'm going to try recording my dreams for a while - it usually helps me remember them but I haven't done it for a long time.

If I was visiting other planes in my dream, would I know for sure that was what was happening? Would I be able to tell upon awakening?

Cath, every human being is at a certain level of conscious awareness. The degree of consciousness determines what you notice, choose to recall or not. In order to progress to where you are consciously aware of visting other planes during dreams, it is helpful to train the mind to recall dreams consistenly and in increasingly more detail. Learning to journal dreams and training the mind to remember is an exercise in mental discipline. In some cultures, children are encouraged to share night dreams every morning during breakfast. This practice is less common in Western cultures. That does not mean teaching oneself to rememeber is hard. It simply requires concerted effort, faith, trust and self-love.

As you grow to feel more comfortable with dream recall and exploring meaning about your deeper fears, the meaning of dreams takes on new signficance. You move from identifying images and associated emotions to taking a multisensory approach to dreams. In other words, you evolve from observing from the outside in to realizing soul is peering from the inside out. You discern the difference without doubt. It is a level of inner knowing and self-acceptance. Dream messages are repeated until you grasp the impact at a given stage of your life. Every ah-ha moment has far-reaching significance you have yet to register.

Max, the truth is not painful. Ego mind keeps the blnders on you. Authentic power is all about being grateful to be alive, to explore places you do not consciously recall. Its all about jogging memory. You are drawing the self back to where you have always been. Its about acepting it as is.
May 7, 2009 | Registered CommenterLiara Covert
Liara,

I agree that the Truth is not painful, but people (for their own reasons) transform that same Truth into something painful that they rather not face.

"Authentic power is all about being grateful to be alive, to explore places you do not consciously recall." - I agree.

"Its about acepting it as is." - absolutely!
