Master the idea of what does not matter

As you go through a typical day, you come to realize unexpected events do not have to shake you up.  Have you mastered the idea of what does not matter?

Recently, when I was moving, my related experiences were anything but smooth sailing.  I had planned to pack and move smoothly, but things did not turn out that way. I realize I was being tested, just like you are, every moment of every day.  I decided foibles did not matter.  Have you ever been in a situation where if something could go wrong, it did?

You may decide events are not meant to unfold as you initially predicted.  Challenges are actually good for you.  Rain enables flowers to grow even if it adds a curve ball to your move. When cleaners do not show up as scheduled, you can view this as an opportunity to expand your compassion and understanding. Remind yourself that the world does not revolve around you, but your thoughts and intentions.

If everyone seems to want something from you just when other deadlines are approaching, if the phone does not stop, you do not have to answer it.  You choose to view this as a distraction or not.  Sense every moment as an opportunity to sense something good. What matters is the good you do for yourself and others.  You are evolving to master your soul.  This means perspective widens, if you align with intention.

Yes, our reality is a matter of our perspective. We are responsible for so much more than we often care to acknowledge.

Hi Liara. I got a neat "hit" off your statement, "... perspective widens, if you align with intention."

What is interesting to me is that fear feels so real and yet it is not. Giving it too much attention appears to validate it even more.

Thanks for this.

I realize my growth in this area as I watch those who are not as spiritually aware/concerned go through unplanables every day. I'm forever saying, "It's okay. Mop it up and move on."

*Surely* I'm taking my own advice?!?

Mark, reality begins as a state of mind. More than one human being in the same geographic place will expereience life differently. You make an intriguing point when you say, "more than we often care to acknowledge." People choose to be at different stages of a personal learning curve. To take responsibility for where you are and what you experience is part of what transforms your perception.

Davina, perspective changes as often as you do, and you can transform infinitely. Wha you acknowledge at tis moment, how and what, is completely up to you.

Ginae, how you sense self-mastery evolves along side your levels of tolerance and undestanding concerning others. Some people believe they only truly begin to notice and grasp certain behaviours as they move through and transcend the behaviours they suddenly observe in other people. You say, inside, "aha! or, I know what that felt like." Everyone learns from everything. Awareness unfolds your new stages of self-learning.

This is a wonderful reminder Liara! I HAVE been there - where everything seems to go wrong. And I'll find myself looking at this, thinking - why does everything have to go wrong. Recently, though, I've really been working on seeing the good in every situation (sometimes it's hard!). And, what I've found is that there usually is some good - a way for me to learn, a new way of looking at things, etc. And, when I look for the good - I just naturally feel better about myself and the situation. It's a wonderful reminder - because it's easy to slip into the "woe is me" state - without even realizing it...

Lance, people evolve to invent what goes wrong in their lives. Why do you believe in illusions? You choose to learn, to realize that choices are open to you. Every thought and feeling is a process. As you are open to learning, you are expanding.

Hi Dear Liara,

"Master the idea of what does not matter"

Knowing what DOES matter, with every cell of your body, soul, spirit and mind, feeling this every day, being it, allows everything that is not me to fall away. I am blessed to be with a man who also knows the same, every moment of every day.

There is great beauty expreienced when we are faced with the flat tire, the bounced check, the upset schedule, the leaking roof, and so on and we both look at each other, hug and say, "It's only a roof, only a tire, only a check, only, only, only but we are still here, still with love, still alive, still filled with live and all that DOES matter. I just love that. And to be with someone who experiences life in the same way makes everything precious, filled with new experiences and hope.

There is very little that does matter, and the things that do matter are always with us.

I have just finished a casting period. I chose one performer who was ideal for the role - my superior over-ruled me and chose one who is less suitable. I tried to get a change of opinion, but my superior refuses to budge...after a period of angst I have accepted the decision and now wait to see why this has happened and what will be the outcome.
