Detach from the doer

Training the mind to settle down requires patience and diligence. During this process, you may find that inner contentment is unstable. Why is that? Could it be that the doer within is still wanting something?

In many cases, the mind interferes.  It exists to control.  And yet, the watcher within knows mind can relinquish all control and even disappear. There is no need to question or do anything. Allow the mind to do what it pleases. Remember how it feels not to respond.  Simply notice emotions. To be fully aware of the dream is to accept all control is beyond reach, to watch fear dissolve and surrender to what remains. Degrees of transformation unfold in living experience.  One emerges in a state of heightened awareness.

Thank you. I needed to read this today, especially this part: "Allow the mind to do what it pleases. Remember how it feels not to respond."

Meredith, the nature of conditioning and learned emotional reactions prompts one to forget the choice of not doing. To awaken to the role of the witness within releases thoughts, heavy energy, and apparent tension in ways that re-orient you to who you truly are. Savor the timeless stillness.

The mind is, however, directed by the individual both consciously and unconsciously through asking questions, pondering about life, creating intentions, hoping, summoning specific ideas and spirits, etc.... So therefore, the doer may be wanting to meet up with the counterpart that the mind is attracting for the soul to experience. So the mind becomes controlling because there is a program that we have installed and initiated in which it wants to satisfy. The mind is only doing its job. So the doer does indeed try to satisfy the mind so that the tension is released.

However, by finishing the project, or by ending the Play, one is often left with an empty feeling. What about sensing the moral to the story? As the mind takes us on the journey to its finishing point, we can open up to the ride its self, like feeling sensational while catching a wave on a surf board. It is the journey to the outcome that brings us back to having an in-come. One becomes rich with experience.

Through awareness of what is actually in the mind and where it came from, one can modify or release its contents so that one can direct one's experiences with specific attention. However, as implied, doing is a concept which is one means of gratifying one's desires. The trick comes to feeling what one is doing as they are fulfilling their dreams. Doing then vanishes and one is then left with merging fully with the scene and the environment that we are reflecting upon. This opens up multi-dimensional doors of vertical experience. It is more akin to playing chess on multiple levels, instead of a horizontally based playing board.

Bernie, another view is that mind has its own personality and self-centredness and the essence of energy being chooses to be controlled by the mind's persuasive conditioning or, transcend it.

I see and understand what you are saying Liara about the mind, but I sense the personality of the mind exists in direct connection and correlation to our wishes and how we make them over time. The problem comes from wishing opposing thoughts or thoughts that want to then take us in two or more directions at once. It appears controlling because of the chaos installed into it by not being conscious of our thoughts and how we send our energy out into the world. One direction then gets stronger when we are close to the answer or ending point. It confuses people because they think they don't have control over the situation. One solution is to follow through on all intentions that become apparent within the mind. Once concluded, the opposing directions can then be respected and discovered and experienced too.

Bernie, many views exist about the mind. People say mind preceeds matter or matter preceeds mind. Mind is conditioned to debate the visible and intangible. In truth, it exists nowhere. Its magnitude is immeasurable and requires no space. In truth, nothing exists unless something imagines it into being.

Scientists say the mind is responsible for thoughts and feelings, faculties of logic and reason, and prompting of the physical body. On other levels, the mind's sheer complexity is beyond explanation.

Beyond belief, perception and words, the mind and senses function based on the existence of soul. Alone, they are lifeless. Everything expands from the conscious creation and intelligence of soul.

Inner knowing reveals mind separates one from the God source or pure soul consciousness. Further awakening triggers remembering one does not have soul consciousness. The essence of being is Soul.

Hi Liara .. having had a busy mind night - irritated by events at the Home .. after a flood last weekend - and the carpet still damp now smelling the Home out .. because it has not been dealt with/managed at all properly - the night does settle the mind & bring some belated lack of control over thought. Thanks - I keep going in this direction .. to be hauled back by events or something that would be so easy to sort out - but which affects others as well as us.

Thanks - Hilary
