Stop looking for what is missing

You may begin to notice you are searching for (or work to create) something you perceive to be missing.  Reflect on the seeds that prompt you to awaken. Consider what you do to stretch the mind.  What if nothing separates you from the innate joy within except conditioned denial or disbelief? What if you do not take pleasure in results? What if you stop rejecting what the mind does not want? Imagine the steadiness of an unwavering insight, or synchronicity , and so it is.  Reflect on the following Zen koan if you chose:

A MASTER who lived as a hermit on a mountain was asked by a monk,
"What is the Way?"

"What a fine mountain this is," the master said in reply.

"I am not asking you about the mountain, but about the Way."

"So long as you cannot go beyond the mountain, my son, you cannot
reach the Way," replied the master.

Hello Liara,
it has been so long since I have visited your insightful sharings. This is a lovely post to remind us the gifts of being present.
Thank you.

Hi Liara .. I had some results yesterday and it made such a difference and I was so happy, despite the other things, it spurs me on. Other opportunities arose .. the way is there and I am preparing for it .. allowing synchronicity to flow for me. I love Zen koan .. and look forward to learning more in the months and years to come .. thank you - Hilary

This is so very true. We often focus so much on what is missing we miss what is here.

Tammie, being present echoes the miracle of existence, of expanding awareness, of everything you sense or do not see.

Hilary, inner contentment or happiness is an innate state that never changes. The mind would like you to believe that happiness depends on external events. In truth, you control your thoughts, moods and how you perceive or ignore what unfolds. You rationalize perceived positives or negatives inside yet they only exist in mind. Notice some people only notice what enriches them or only what bothers them. To notice all is to appreciate every experience and to move beyond being controlled by mind or the illusion of duality.

Mark, selective awareness is a mind-imagined trait. Any perceived pitfall is always within the self. Everything is already part of you. In other words, the body, mind and spirit are 'the Way.' There is nothing missing, even when the mind imagines there is.

When I was a student I went to an 'encounter' class. We sat on the studio floor - "Isn't the silence beautiful" screamed the teacher

henry, beauty is always felt through the multi-sensory filter of the beholder. I recommend a book by Gary Zukav called Spiritual Partnerships- The Journey to Authentic Power. It is a 2010 listing under my Amazon recommendations and you may also find it through other distributors.
