3 Tips to learn to self-control

Dreaming as you do, you move toward becoming more aware that you are dreaming as this is actually happening.  You may underestimate how this activity enables you to train your mind. No doubt you wonder what dream control exists and what kinds are desirable.

Consider you can evolve to regulate not only your response to dream content, but also the themes of your dreams.  People can learn to work through problems in dreams.  You may ask yourself what really is possible? Reflect on three tips to learn self-control;

1) Value your scary dreams.  As you learn to face the source of your fear in dreams, you gain a measure of self-control and confidence that carries over to how you function while awake.  You begin to realize you exert control over what you think and feel in life.

2) Recognize controlling others is not the answer.  Although you may employ magic in dreamworlds and even transform creatures with thoughts or spells, wishing for people to disappear in real life is not an effective solution.  Conjuring is not the way to solve your problems. Changing your attitude and perception of conditions is more useful.

3) Rethink your assumptions.  How you handle obstacles, conflicts and discomfort in waking life comes back to your assumptions about what is and is not possible.  Whether you choose to become a more experienced dreamer and what level of awareness you reach in waking life each influence what you are willing to create and tackle in dreams.

Hi Liara,
Dreaming is such an integral part of enlightenment. If only more people would give their dreams power. The Mayans used to discuss their dreams over breakfast, it was a part of their daily development.

Dreams are the road to our Soul and more people would benefit if they learned to walk it and embrace that part of their lives.

Hi Liara. Controlling others is not the answer -- the standout in my experience. Controlling myself? Now that's another story?

You recently analyzed a couple of dreams on your blog. Are still doing that? I had a doozy of a nightmare the other day where I was about to be murdered. I have my own thoughts on what it meant, but curious what you'd say.

I noticed you are publishing a book soon; that idea always revs me up. I'll be checking back to see when.

Hello Liara,
Thanks for these tips, we have the ability to work through in the dream state what we need to know in the waking state. Soul's lessons are always going on in both states.
Thanks for all your wise, inspiring words!
Have a wonderful Christmas and may the new year bring much peace, light, love and joy.

Alexys, personal experience shapes each of us into who we are based on what we choose to perceive. As people realize they have different avenues that enable them to explore themselves, then they also discover a variety of ways and levels to grow.

Davina, I do still analyze dreams. Email me a synopsis and I will get back to you about that.

My first book is indded an excitng project. The New York-based publisher involved will be putting out the material very soon. The website will offer details as soon as they become avilable.

Learning to control your thoughts and feelings relates back to discipling your mind. It is always within your grasp to expand your sense of who you are.

Miruh, you offer such relevant views. Human beings are often unaware that soul lessons and awareness are changing based on different states of mind. People are not aware of everything that is happening simultaneously. Dreams are another strategy used by the human mind to work through the mysteries of its current form and existence.

Liara, I totally agree that examining our dreams is a doorway to our psyches. And since the most important thing in life is to know ourselves--the springboard for all else that we may know and do--it's a good idea to value our dreams, even the "bad" ones. As you point out...

We cannot control what happens outside of us, but we can control how we perceive and react to stimuli. Trying to look at things from a broader perspective, helps!

Your blog is intriguing!

Lynda, each person contemplates the the need to progress or to self-examine. Indiviuals are at different stages of awareness because not everyone is interested in seeking the truth. As people grow to realize they engage or disengage in all their suffering, then they come to appreciate different levels of inner knowing they way the physical world works and the way core beings really are.
