Were you born to go a different way?

I have been a misfit since childhood. No one understood me, not even my father.

He once said, "You are not a madman, fit to be put in a madhouse, nor are you monk to be put in a monastery. I just don't know what you are!"

I replied: "You know, father, I can tell you what it is like. Once a duck egg was put under a hen to be hatched. When the egg hatched, the duckling walked along with the mother hen until they came to a pond. The duckling took a nice dip in the water. But the hen stayed on the bank and clucked. Now, my dear father, after having tried the sea I find it my home. If you choose to stay on the shore, is it my fault? I am not to be blamed."

There are some who are born to go a very different way.

I was indeed born to go a different way. My parents still think I was switched at birth! But that is in a good way. :o)

Sometimes I do wonder...

Most days I fit in quite normally. However, there are some days, when I question if I'm going the was I was destined for...I think I'm getting closer...

Titania, you are unable to change the opinions of others, but you can control your opinions about others, even those people who have firm opinions about you.

Lance, part of you always knows what you are destined for. It is the other parts of you that confuse matters. To savor everything that happens means you are evolve to be glad about wherever you are. The fact that you question means you are alive and evolving.

My earliest memory if just prior to my conception and the message I am getting is that I'm not supposed to go into the physical world yet, but I looked around and said, "I am going anyway, because this is my time and I have never done things by the book." And I went. AND I knew that I would not fit in and that it would be a very "interesting" and at times tumultuous journey one "out of time". BUT I wanted that, I wanted to experience something new and unknown. AND it was a journey of my own choosing, and at that moment of choice I felt immense power because I was following the course that was most me, and I knew it.

And my life ever since has been so out of the norm (if there is such a thing as norm). Almost everything about it has taken me a "different way". And what a ride it's been. LOL :) I chose a course frothing with life and vigour and I've never regretted it. I am deeply grateful.

Robin, when human beings are unable to see beyond their everyday issues, then they find it hard to surmount them. Yet, as you have realized, it is possible to evolve to sense more than one perspective within and without yourself. Part of you may believe your imagination is playing tricks with your senses. Another part of you has innate wisdom to put everything you expeirence into a wider perspective.

Hi Liara. I've always thought I was born into the "wrong" family. If I didn't believe that we chose our life circumstances prior to birth, I would always wonder about that. I'm not too much like any of my family, except that I look like my father (who oddly enough I did not know until I turned 16). And, my grandmother who passed away in 1991; she was more like my mother, best friend and sister all rolled into one.

Davina, no person is ever in what they perceive to be the 'wrong' place. Human beings are often conditioned to believe that they are supposed to evolve to nurture similar likes and dislikes to those people around us. Hence, the reason for conformism and structures in society which encourage you to study what people have before you and follow in their footsteps. However, in order to encourage you to explore your authentic self, your soul knows its necessary to place yourself in an environment which is uncomfortable enough to prompt you to explore your options. This is a process that encourages you to build courage, trust and faith in parts of you that you do not recall or know well yet at a conscious level. Yet, the fact that you move away from what you know in any way is a sign that you are willing to go the distance required to align your true energy.
