What makes you tick?
Human beings are constantly shifting their awareness. This is how you evolve to figure out, 'what makes you tick.' Things that stimulate your soul and authentic self differ from those things that trigger ego. Learning to discern the difference is part of rediscovering what matters. This explains what adds meaning to your physical existence.
Consciousness is a state of mind unconcerned with your belief systems, sense of ethics or desire. As you heighten your awareness, you facilitate your own evolution. This comes about as you develop greater awareness of how universal laws function, and how your thoughts regulate your life. Certain unchangeable truths are detected by your feelings.
Every moment, part of you seeks an explanation for your behaviour. You are serving others in ways you overlook. It is a process to learn how to recognize what you do not notice. Every choice has purpose, intention and underlying motivation. That means, part of you does not desire to align energy or identify what it would require for you to change. Indifference, judgement and discomfort have their own silent motivations.
Another way to view 'what makes you tick' is to ask yourself what evokes compassion, empthy, peace, love, the desire within yourself to assist others. As you encounter obstacles, you feel compelled to sort things out in your own mind to convince yourself you follow choices grounded in your own reason. It is how you decide to prepare and equip yourself for greater understanding that gets you where you know you already are.

Ticking reminds me of clocks which have precise movement. And when a clock doesn't move it stops and is unable to tell the time. When we don't move, we too stop, but it is to think, reflect and act. When we can't move, we may feel frustrated, defenseless or unhappy, but when we can't move forward, we can still move horizontally, diagonally or vertically. In doing so, we are still ticking. Awareness makes me tick.
