Not because its easy, but because its hard
What have you taken steps to learn today? What kinds of experiences enable you to grow? Some people figure we have some pre-determined pattern for a life journey. As long as you remain open to expanding how you see and what you think you know, then you also remain open to bettering yourself. You define failures and successes and these ideas evolve with your self-awareness. How will you choose to learn from them or not?
Each of us has different ideas about what makes life meaningful and about what would make it even more meaningful. You have this desire to carry on, even if you also feel somewhat apprehensive. What you think is easy or what you believe will be difficult are all relative. You may feel that self-improvement requires you alter your mindset and some of your life choices. You may think its vital to contribute to the world in new ways rather than simply taking from it.
Consider John F. Kennedy's famous speech about the U.S. Space Program which triggered a great deal of enthusiasm and self-improvement among actors in the Space Industry of his time:
We choose to go to the moon. We choose to go to the moon in this decade and do the other things, not because they are easy, but because they are hard, because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one which we intend to win, and the others, too.

I agree with you about the Law of Relativity.
Hard or easy is just a comparison. I depends on what are we comparing with.
I sense these are some of the most powerful words ever spoken by JFK. They can inspire our attitude concerning any area of our lives. As people begin to tell themselves they can't do things, they also need to realize they can be their own worst enemy or their own best friend. Why not choose to catapult yourself forward? Your life experiences all begin with you. Encourage and believe in yourself.
This is my approach. I like challenges and I love competition. This is what gives my life hope, inspiration and drive.
