The necklace
A friend of mine told me a memorable story about her father's infant sister. During the aunt's childhood, at age three, she wandered off into the forest near her house into the forest. She was missing overnight. Her family grew very worried. When she was eventually found the next day, she said that "the lady took care of me." Her parents were initially confused. They thought that perhaps a stranger had cared for their daughter. They expressed gratitude. Yet, the little girl shook her head. She pointed instead to the fact that she wore a necklace with the head of the Virgin Mary. She indicated this was the lady who looked after her. Her parents initially doubted her story, yet she convinced them that she must have had guardain angels.
